Just an observation but it seems to me that green felt tables (that i remember from watching poker in the 2000s) have been replaced by black ones.

Am i going crazy or is there a reason for this?

Where have they been replaced? Many casinos still use the classic green, very common. On video, black allows the chips and cards to really pop, may be a reason they're popular on the livestreams.

Green and burgundy are classic. Black felt allows for maximum contrast with the cards in those overhead shots.
