What video games are you playing? (25 Viewers)

I started playing video games recently. I moved on from Madden 24. I now I am "trying" to play Batman, Arkham Knight. I believe it it pretty old.

Nice. Steel kings?

I had double Barons, DNA with Blueprint, and at the end, I had around 65 Steel Kings with a red seal!

Elden Ring DLC anyone?

It's fantastic but when I'm done with it, I don't anticipate picking it up again. The final boss is overtuned by a very wide margin and if I don't ever defeat them, I won't lose any sleep over it. The DLC feels like I'm playing a character from the PS3 version of Demon's Souls who just got transported into a different world where all the enemies & bosses have far greater mobility, attack speed, poise, power, and health.

i don't know how bad the spike is for the end, but i haven't had toooo much difficulty so far. my toughest challenge was actually the first mausoleum guy, and i have handled a few bosses on the 1st or 2nd try. i am doing regular NG, pure melee build w/ rivers of blood. i will say though i have skipped every fire golem and dragon fight, and have no plan to bother with any of them if i can avoid it - i just find those fights super tedious and i don't care about the rewards or being a completionist.

i'm not entirely sure how far i am, but i've got to be fairly well past halfway.

My biggest complaint as a caster build is that almost all the DLC bosses are launching themselves across the arena from second one before I can set up summons or buffs.

Messmer and the final boss are the biggest culprits of that. Spirit Ashes are there to be used, but good luck trying to find a window long enough to actually summon when you're having to start dodging combos 0.2 seconds after entering the boss arena.

I was able to get to the end with the Dark Moonlight Greatsword, so I didn't even have bleed damage to rely on, just one frostbite proc generally. Good luck with getting to the end of the journey, there are some really great battles to be had.

I haven’t played a video game for almost two years and sporadically before that. However I’m about to buy myself a PS5 to play the new College Football…which was basically the only video game I ever played (some COD if it was a modern theme). After 10 years it’s back and looks amazing

One of my college roommates who lives in CA is doing the same so we can match wits. We went to Penn State and went to many/watched many college football games together before he moved. Also looking to school my 13 and 15 year old  :ROFLMAO:

Anyone else find themselves only playing old games at this point? Guild Wars 1, Starcraft Brood War, any games on Dolphin emulator or earlier consoles. Just finished replaying SSX Tricky. GTA V is a newer game I recently replayed but apparently 11 years have passed since its release (still a 10/10 game).

I will say Baldur's Gate 3 and FF7 Remake were exceptional.
I still replay old games on NES, SNES, N64, etc. though emulators or Switch Online occasionally (just got back into Perfect Dark this summer).

Almost completed the DLC. Still just kind of running around trying to find everything. Haven't made an attempt on the final boss yet, but I've heard the stories.

I just ended up looking up a cheese build to 4 shot him after 40-50 attempts that weren't even close.

I recently got bitten by the Elden Ring bug and just beat the main storyline last week. Not sure if I want to get DLC or just start a NG+ or new character playthrough… decisions decisions

There is a lot of content outside of the main storyline in the main game for sure.

Monster Train got released on PS5 yesterday and I instantly bought it. There are obvious similarities to Slay the Spire but it improves on the pace of a run big time. Presentation wise it's very vibrant and bombastic compared to Spire's more subdued look.

Also continuing my Balatro pursuits and have 2 decks with Gold Stake wins now. Funnily enough was able to do this:

Played the COD BO6 beta and looking forward to the final release. Still playing a lot of TDM and MWZ. Playing a bit of Quake Live for the old school fix. Also got into Diablo IV a bit recently.

Astro Bot is just wonderful. That is all.

definitely interested.

in the meantime, could use a recommendation. going on a cross-globe work trip in a couple days so will have a lot of plane time, gonna bring my kids' switch but need a game idea. i enjoy metroidvania games but i've played all the obvious ones - any suggestions? (that type or otherwise, not looking for AAA)

Dandara, Animal Well. They also just released all the Nintendo DS Castlevanias on the switch in one package.

all the meta stuff that basically requires looking up solutions

yeah that would pose a problem halfway across the pacific lol.

i've never been a completionist anyway - i'm generally happy to get in, get an ending, and get out.

Just took over my N-Sane Trilogy over.

I've fully completed the 1st one. Getting the gold relic on Stormy Ascent was a nightmare.

Now I'm in the Cortex Strikes Back episode.

Started Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. Awesome so far despite the performance issues. It's not even bad performance issues, just they tried to make it 60fps, but it dips to 25-30 quite often. Would have been better if they just stuck to 30 as the dips can be distracting.
