My tournament set is custom CC Royals, but on this forum you will indeed find a large percentage that use Paulsons.

Many people do use "clay" chips (Paulson, CPC, BCC, TRK), although some wonder if they should keep them as collectibles and not play (the majority strongly discourages that however).
Many use ceramics and "china clays" or plastics, especially for travel or tournament purposes.

You can make this thread a poll which would include the options "Clay", "Ceramic", "China Clay", "High-End Plastic" and "Slugged Plastic". I 'd be curious to see what the true majority is.

I don't know if this is all about "what people actually use" and more of a pr0n hunt :)

Nothing wrong with a pr0n hunt by the way

Get samples of whatever you can find.

Some folks love the plastic chips that Matsui and Abbiati make. I can't get past how slippery they are. I like clay all the way. I find that I like some of the discontinued BCC chips as much as if not more than some Paulson chips. The custom options with CPC are second to none and not offered by anyone else currently in the home market.

Welcome!

I smell a potential poll...

Me:
Primary cash set: CPC custom.
Casual low-value limit set: B&G casino set.
Experimental high-value limit set: mixed old clay chips.

I’ve been toying with plastics and find there’s great variation there, perhaps more so than among clay chips, even across different lines from the same manufacturer. Still have a few more to check out....

Clay chips mostly.
Paulson, BCC, & custom CPC.

I also have Chipco and BR Pro ceramics.

this is a site dedicated to chips so to think most people aren’t using Paulson chips (or comparable quality) would seem odd to me.

That would be like going to a muscle car site and assuming most people are driving a Honda Accord.

Cash: I have four Paulson sets (three mixed and a 1,200-piece Lady Luck set); a custom ceramic set from the good people at BR Pro and working on another one; CC Majestics.

Tourney: ceramic.

Family game: MGM house mold (Paulson)

Cash game: Bahamias (Paulson)

Tourney: Cleveland Horseshoes (Paulson)

I am not convinced the Majority here feel that way. Non stop barrage of unplayed, near mint Racks available continually it seems. Beautiful pics of chips in storage, and on shelves. Hard to say ... think most new members that sign up would use them if available at their price point however.

Paulson.
I own some Chipco ceramics, but they are sadly neglected and unloved.

Near-mintness is preserved by having truckloads of chips and using each set once a year or so :D

High end plastic and real clay only. No ceramics at my table.
