Hey guys, im fairly new to the poker world and I'm so curious as to why everyone is obsessed with "paulsons" from what i understand they are the highest quality poker chip out there.
also why do you guys think they stopped manufacturing them for the public if they're so popular?

Welcome to PCF! There are many threads on these topics, use the search button for same.

Long story short they stopped selling to the public b/c that was a very small part of their net income/customer base. They also stopped selling to retailers/public so they could market their products as more secure to the casinos.

You will find plenty of debate regarding whether they are the "highest" quality poker chips "out there" depending on personal preferences and opinions of the debaters. The majority feel that way depending on which mold you are talking about, although many will also argue TRK or BCCs are superior to some or all Paulson chips. Have fun in the rabbit hole.

You know how every poker chip set on Amazon or at Walmart or anywhere you look advertises that they’re clay or clay composite? It’s all a lie - they’re all plastic. Real compressed clay chips aren’t common - there’s only one company in the world currently manufacturing them, and those are Paulsons. There have been other brands of compressed clay chips produced in the last century, though not very many of them.
Edit: I’m dumb

You dissing CPC?

I just have a sample set of Paulsons but they are by far the best chip when it comes to feel that I have handled. I have samples of ABS, China Clays, and Ceramics and the only chips that come close to the feel of Paulsons were the China Clay Dunes from Apache Poker, but the Paulsons were still better and smoother in my opinion.
