Everyone’s opinion is different and it depends on what you’re looking for. There are options from .10 a chip plastic crap to .sets worth $30k or more.
If you want to see high end sets, check this thread out. @Windwalker had amassed most of the ultimate, unobtainable sets. It’s only 348 pages to read. Lol

@Seeking Alpha Social Club just posted an epic TRK Deadwood set. Awesome

@Lil Tuna has an awesome TRK set.
Many people will relabel chips to customize them. Some like real casino chips. Many are chip snobs and many are practical. Many great sets out there. So, are you looking for high end, take a second mortgage out chip set, a cheap set, or a really nice middle of the road set around $2-$3 a chip?

Thanks.. RPC set does look nice.. those are going for a pretty penny aswell..My desire sets are out of my price range. If money isn't an issue, I'd go with Royal Princess Casino or Sunset Beach sets.
Get samples! As each new discovery you make, your taste and opinion change. It's a fun venture to explore the options from the bottom to the top. The more you experience, the more refined your wants will be.

Happy Venturing!
Barf. I would not even play in a game using that set -- horrible design, especially in low light.
I think for the price, and if you can find them, secondary HSI's are AWESOME!! My peeps like that set as much or more than any other I have.Good evening everyone,
New to this hobby, would like to know what is what are the desire sets and and overall favorite sets to use for a home game?
Thanks in advance.
That cash set looks awesome l..Recen Chiproom sale of the Indiana Grands have moved close to the top of my list

Mostly secondary for the tourney set, not many of the secondary $1ks exist so I have them mixed together with Primaries. The $5k and $25k are both primaries. The price tag is definitely on the higher end for chip sets... but I love this one more every single time I see it! I dream of it one day being playable with 50k starting stacks and level 100/100 first level.
The cash set is all primary

Unfortunately there were no fracs (less than $1) so we plan torelabel the Blues to quarters and yellows to nickles.
The "best chips" are very difficult to find in sets these days but still possible with a large budget and patience. Leaded THC Paulsons, leaded Scrown TRKs, and some of the top end BCCs are what most consider the "best" but most consider them "unobtanium" with so many new members finding the hobby in the last couple of years.
Welcome to the hobby @Taiin09 and best of luck on your own chipping journey!

I love all my children, but these JACK Detroits make me bonkers. If I see any for sale, I still lose my shit.
Nice… that’s a pretty big cash set you got going..View attachment 1033682
CDI98 FTW!
Haven’t seen those before..how do you like them?View attachment 1033678
Club Cleopatra HHR
Haven’t really seen or feel any of the CPC that I can recollected, but Paulson are fire…Any custom CPC. Most old school leaded Paulson THCs.
I love seeing other people's custom sets.
BCC sets?? Sorry still new haven’t learned all the terminology for these sets etc..BCC sets. The very top ones are locked up but probably also out of my price range if available
I am still adding pieces to the Jack set. I acquired Snappers back in October, so been nearly 4 years. Lmao! I recently lost an auction for more melons, so I’m still hunting. Not sure when I’ll ever stop myself. It’s a disease at this point. That cash set looks awesome l..

I’ve got a BCC “The Capital Room” cash set. It’s a small piece, but I love em! Will NEVER sell these bad boys! They are on the famous MGK mold (medium Greek key)

I can’t argue that I haven’t lost sight of some sort of objective, during my time here.Let’s not mislead the new guy. A 700 chip set is not “a small piece.” It’s actually an indulgent size, since most PCFers, if forced to be honest, would agree that a 600 chip set is plenty for a single cash table for most typical home games.
These 1,000 - 2,000 piece sets that people like to show off here - a lot of wonderful things can be said about them, but they’re excessive.

Aw, I didn’t mean to imply greed at all. People love chips - they should collect big sets if they like. But I’ve only ever hosted 8-max games, and I have a bad habit of going after expensive chips, so my sets tend to be smaller. And in the while that I’ve been here, there’s always been a part of me that felt like my 500-700 chip sets just looked silly small when I posted them. I think the first set I ever posted was a mixed set with a rack of quarters, two racks of ones, a rack of fives and a barrel of twenties. Those 420ish chips were plenty for my small .25/.50 game. And I remember being told “that’s not a set,” because it was so small. So I’m just trying to normalize normal a bit around here.I can’t argue that I haven’t lost sight of some sort of objective, during my time here.
You have got me there!
Some of us, it seems, become acclimatized to excessive greed around here!
I love the HHR mold and now that i can add on to the Trinidad &Tobago inlayThat cash set looks awesome l..

Agree that super large cash sets don't nake a lot of sense (how manu can you get on the table, well unless its limit) but large tournament sets make sense .Let’s not mislead the new guy. This is beautiful! As for number of sets, it's constantly said how RHC chips wear faster, so I have a tendancy to grab a cash set whenever cool RHC sets come up as I feel like I have another 40+ years of home games ahead of me. Plan for the future!
