What’s everyone’s Favorite playing cards ? (1 Viewer)

I love these 2012 WSOPs. If only they were Jumbo index I would be set for life. I was previously a KEM fan but when I checked my cards after the Covid break every single deck was warped. I like these just as much. I did spend the money and import some regular Fournier Bridge-Jumbo from Lithuania. I will probably get some more of those at some point. Those are my favorite cards so far. I like them at least as much as the KEM if not more.

Hi all, as mentioned in this thread I wanted to try out some new cards to figure out what my favourite cards will be. So, I've got myself a few to play with, see image below.

A few other cards to arrive shortly are: Fournier 2826, KEM Jumbo, Mondiano Platinum and the Desjgn Classic Victorian & Classic Diamond Gorgon deck

Also, I'm looking for some Dal Negro's (Bridge 108 Carte Ntp Pvc, Ramino Ntp Pvc, Texas Poker Monkey Blu, Magic Byke Blu Jumbo Index, Texas Hold'em Blu Casino Quality). If anyone has some input on where to best buy these online for shipment to The Netherlands, please do let me know - appreciated!

I’m with you there. I have a bunch of “requirements” for cards, but really they’re all negotiable except pip size. I can’t find a reason to buy standard index. Clarity is the most important thing.

FYI - the 4-setup (8 decks) of used (but excellent condition) WSOP 2012 cards made by Fournier is back at $9.97 + $8.75 shipping: https://www.ebay.com/itm/152686912359

He had them listed at the "retail" ~$40 price recently, or he hadn't "rebuilt" his inventory, but they're now back to "75% off" or under $2.50 per 2-deck setup (before shipping). Looks like he has 10 available.
Thanks. Placed an order. Always wanted to try these. Can give a set to a friend trying to start up a league.

Only thing I’m concerned about are players bending the cards up too much when peeking to see the suit. Even though all of the players are 50+ and wear glasses (except for me), we’ve never really used jumbos.

Most of my recent card acquisitions have been jumbos so next live game I’m going to have us use them for a full session and see which index we like better. Actually will probably do it for the next two sessions since introducing the change will probably cause a little grumbling at first.

Bending the cards up too much, that they might damage the cards? Or that the guy next to him might see his cards?
Honest question, because I’ve never understood the objections to jumbos.

That they might damage the cards. Some of our guys are known for bending cards too much that it damages them, though since switching to Copags a few years ago it hasn’t really been an issue and more recently we’ve been mixing in the WSOP 2012 and Bicycle Prestiges, all standard/regular index though.

I agree the benefits of jumbos likely negates any potential drawbacks. Proof will be in the pudding, once I have my guys use them for a couple sessions, since it is a subjective thing.

4 setups of used 2012 WSOP just arrived. I’m amazed what great condition these are in…I know they didn’t see much play, but these look brand new.
2 cards out of the 8 decks has a small moon-shaped crease, like from holding a chip on the hole cards and bending them up to peek. Other than that, perfect.

A new addition to the team feels great! Compared to some others from my previous post, I think I'm leaning towards cards with more textured finish, from linen to coarse (source: Redneck Poker Card Database 2.0). Next to arrive are the Fournier 2826, KEM Jumbo, Desjgn Classic Victorian & Classic Diamond Gorgon deck and Dal Negro Monkey.

Got some Nevada Jack playing cards from BRProPoker. They are poker sized and "standard" index. The plastic of the cards feels pretty good - a little bit slippery IMO, I prefer a little more texture for the backs. The dealbreaker for me was the design of the faces - too difficult for me to see clearly, especially across a table. I emailed them and am hoping they will accept a return... Btw, the backs have no border, the crossing red or blue lines go all the way to the edges of the cards...

A game I attended few years ago was using these Nevada Jacks cards and some players also complain about visibility across the table and asked the host to change the cards. Personally, I did not see any issue with these cards.

Are the design on the right and the TOP?

It look nice, I mostly played 6 handed round poker table so no worry of people unable to see the card

Has anyone tried the “Ice” cards yet? One of the guys in our group has the nickname “Ice,” and I thought about getting some for him. I’d appreciate any feedback on them.

Just a quick follow up - wanted to give an AttaGirl to Kristil at BrProPoker - overly accommodating and helpful and refunded my money with no problems whatsoever. Too efficient actually, lol, I emailed her about an hour later and asked if she could apply the refund to some custom plaques but she had already processed the refund! I'll definitely be ordering those plaques once I finish up the design and doing more business in the future with BrProPoker!:tup::tup:

I would try Marion Pro's you can get 12 Decks for $84 on Amazon alil on the thinner side but if you like thinner cards u will love these they shuffle like a dream for only $7ea deck its worth checking them out

:) I recently bought a Number of sample plastic card deck from china that had good reviews

Seem like a good way to try to found a gold mine in cheap plastic card

I ended up buying some of the 2012 WSOP cards. For the money, I don’t think you can beat them. My only real complaint is there’s too much white on the back. We had a couple cards flip over while washing them, and it was a bit difficult to pick them out of the group because they blended so much. Definitely not my favorite cards, but for the price it’s a no brainer.

I was concerned about boxed cards being a problem with the white border on the backs, but luckily it didn't seem to be an issue with my group of guys (surprisingly).

I ordered 4 setups of these and they showed up last week. Just got a chance to put them in play and they are terrific! I did find one card that was slightly creased but for the money they are almost perfect and I am sure that I can get lots of use out of them.

I didn't even think of this until I saw your post. It is a bit true though... When the backs are more color and less white it is easier to pick out boxed cards. Minor detail for sure

Definitely not my favorite cards,
For me they are right up there near the top. The backs are not beautiful or anything and I prefer jumbo index but other than that these are great and for the price they are fantastic!

Spot on!

I would have to agree. This is kind of a minor quibble...

I think the bigger issue, if I had to find a fault with these WSOP 2012 cards, is that they are somewhat difficult to pick up on some playing surfaces, as several people have mentioned.

Faded Spade dislikes: Stiffness, boring backs, greyish color instead of white. Likes: everything else. I like the texture and love the font and faces.

So I've got a few sets in for my first time looking at em. Got some Copag, Desjgn, Bicycle Prestige. Out of these I feel like I definitely like the Desjgn the best. Also I like Poker/Jumbo better than Bridge. Haven't gotten to play with any of them in a real game though.

Adding onto this. Just got the Faded Spades in. Really love the design on the face of these cards. Thickness doesn't bother me really, they still shuffle pretty good for me.

So of the sets I've got these are how I'd rank them for me personally (I haven't played games with any of these, just shuffling and feeling them).

1. Faded Spades
2. Desjgn
1. Classic Victorian
2. Diamonds
3. Modiano Platinum
4. Copag
5. Bicycle Prestige

My personal favorite are the 2007 WSOP error cards. KEMs, small index in the corner to check your holdings, and then big Indexes for the board. The only thing is that the 6 and 9 are hard to tell apart, and they will warp if you don’t put pressure on them.

I also like the 2012 WSOPs, I bought a bunch of the used decks and give them away to friends who come over. I learned shuffling on one of them, and shuffled it so much the ink started coming off. I think they are a great card to gift because they are plastic cards, but they don’t have the “Copag smell”, they don’t warp like KEMs, and they use the classic Kem designs but their stiffness while shuffling keeps them at second for me.

I also shuffled a 2010 WSOP deck (ken) somuch that the edge of a card chipped a little bit, probably after 1000+ Shuffles. Interesting to see how card decks “fail” when they do fail.
