Hi. How do you like my very own custom chips?

I'm toying with having either a T2000 chip or even a T2500 chip and so I've taken the time to work on my own custom design.

On a serious note, a T2000 chip is pushing the boundaries of decency for most people, so how would you feel about a T2500?

T2K chips make the T500:T2K ratio a bit too heavy or light, in my opinion:
T25 x12
T100 x12
T500 x9
T2000 x2

Or

T25 x12
T100 x12
T500 x5
T2000 x3

However, a T2.5K chip fits the stacks a little neater, so in a T10K tourney you could have:
T25 x12
T100 x12
T500 x7
T2500 x2

Waddya fink? Am I inviting a player revolt (with the denominations, not the cheapo chips)?

Your second option has the wrong values after 2000. You state 2000-1000-5000 but intended to state 2000-10000-50000.

I am very well aware that the maff works better with a 2000 or 2500 chip however just like the $20 chip for cash, my players just don't like it aka "player revolt". They are used to standard casino denoms so I stick with 1k 5k 25k ... your players may be different and only you can answer that.

I knew that.

(Smartass). Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately I can't correct it!

I don't think the "not as per a casino" thing would cause any problems.

I think I'll go for it and see what happens. I just hate the 500-1000 redundancy.

Voted for the middle one, with the assumed correction.

I once had a set made with 2500s, and it just didn't work...

^ This. The T2000 is vastly superior to the T2500 in all aspects. Plenty of documentation on it here in other threads.

T2000/T10000 works best if a) field sizes and/or stack sizes are large (preferably both), and b) the T2000 chip is an alternate color from the 'standard' T1000 chip color (ie, not yellow or orange) to help avoid possble confusion. More T500 chips are required (and will remain in play longer) when T2000 chips are used.

T1000/T5000 works better for single table sets and with starting stacks of T10000 or smaller.

Which means, of course, that a properly configured tournament set capable of supporting a wide range of starting stacks (T5000+) and different field sizes (1-3 tables or larger) requires the following denominations:

T5, T25, T100, T500, T1000, T2000, T5000, T10000, T25000, T50000, and T100000.

Moar chipes. :)
