Have built a total of 8 standard oval tables and have never had any issues with upholstering the rail, but my next build is going to be a octoganal tabletop for a friend of mine.

Can any of you expert builders chime in and let me know of any tips, tricks or procedures that would be different from upholstering a standard oval table rail?

Also, the rail will be approx 52" in width and 2" thick out side rim. Will a 54" piece of whisper vinyl stretch enough to cover and provide ample staple area? ......or should I use 60" vinyl?

Thanks!!!!!
