First table in the works. Already cut a 5” rail but curious everyone’s thoughts on a 6” rail vs 5”? Pros/cons? This is a standard size table 8’x4’, no raised rail and no cupholders. Now would be the time to make the last minute change and buy another board. Have the 1” foam and whisper vinyl ready to go. Thanks in advance!

5" should be fine if you're not including any cupholders in the rail.
One of the main reasons to go with a 6" rail is to have room for jumbo cupholders in the rail, which is not an issue for you.

Rail will end up being a little bigger that 5" because of the foam and the vinyl, so will be plenty comfortable.

5” no cup holders looks like this. Plenty wide this may even be 4”, but 5 would be great I’m sure

5" would be ideal without cup holders. My present rail is 4.5" and it is comfortable. I'm removing my racetrack, and a few days away from finishing
a 6" rail with cup holders.
