Picture of my Casino Aztar chips .... try and find the chips that have Gear Labels on them :)

So while @Gear is away on a "Business Trip" at the Hitching Post Shootout III....I thought I would let you know that @Mr. Cheese seems to be thrilled with his Grand Vic labels. Take a boo here.

@Gear has done 2 jobs for me so far, and very, very satisfied with the results.

Oak Tree $.50 (1 rack)

Suicide King $100 (2 barrels)

So, by the law of exponentially-increasing proportions, we are on to the 3rd job - design currently in progress.:eek::eek:

Is there any chance those are ASM 312 chips? and if so would you have 5 extra chips you would be willing to trade or sell.
Thanks
Pat

Awesome work. Those chips look great!

@Gear kicks ass!

Yes really great.
When you do something like this are you just putting sticker over inlay and at any point in time you could restore to original inlay by removing sticker?

It depends. If you're just relabeling the chips, then yes. While the stickers are very durable and will never come off during the course of play (or washing the chips), they come off with a small amount of effort and without damaging the underlying inlay.

In contrast, if you do an inlay replacement (which Gear offers as an option as well), then the original inlay is removed and you (obviously) can't restore the chip to its original condition. The pictures I posted in post 35 were inlay replacements, so they could not be restored. I am fairly certain the picture above (of the Terrible's quarter) are relabels that could be removed.

Correct on all counts. Thanks bentax!

Which Paulsons have stickers that can be removed?

No Paulson have stickers from the factory. however the terribles quarters above are actually relabelled (stickers) jack $2 chips' I just placed the sticker over the inlay as stated above the stickers adhere very well, I misplaced a couple when I first started and they did require some effort to remove and that was with one edge already peeled up

So you can just place a Gear label over an existing Paulson inlay?

That's pretty neat. I didn't know that.

I've thought about farming casino chips for sometime now. What's held me back is that I need quarters.

Could I get $1 chips from say Aria, then other $1 chips from another casino and place 25c Aria labels made by Gear on them?

If so, that would be pretty awesome.

Yes.... and they are a bitch to get off, so no worries about falling off during play. Sometimes I screw up and its uneven, and I can quickly peel it off. However when Gear's label is on for a while, its like it was factory installed.

Yup just remember aria has a house mold so more than likely you would have 2 different molds

Great to know, thanks. Yeah, first step would be to find two casinos that use the same mold.

But how do you deal with the Gear label being a little larger than the inlay, and then folding down, creating a little ridge? Or is the inlay flat/flush and the sticker can go right over it? Or can you feel/see the sticker is over an inlay?

It won't be larger than the inlay.... it should be a hair smaller so that it lays flat and does not increase the height of the chip. Gear has a ton of chips on hand to not only make the correct size for you but to color match if you want.

Slight clarification.

If you are relabeling (as opposed to inlay replacing), the label will likely be a little larger than the original inlay (on a THC chip at least). I think what you meant is that it will be just under the exact size of the recessed area, which is the area above the embedded inlay. On an RHC chip, the inlay and recess diameter are often close to the same.

If you're doing an inlay replacement, then the label will be almost the exact size as the original inlay because it is applied to the space that was previously occupied by the original inlay.

I don't have the product in hand yet. However, communication/interaction with @Gear has already been outstanding.

Thats why I assumed it would be larger (if placing it over an existing inlay), but I was worried about a ridge if the inlay is not 100% set in/flush.

It also needs to go on perfectly so that the inlay doesnt show! Probably tricky to do it its the exact same size.

Either way, today Ive been given hope of gaining access to casino Paulsons at a reasonable price :)

Now I just need to find two $1 chips with the same H&C mold, that have a nice color combo :). Vegas trip incoming :)

It does have to be the exact same size, but that's not really tricky as Gear can cut them precisely to whatever size is required. Applying them perfectly isn't too hard either, especially after some practice.

Here's my go to picture for relabels. These are examples of labels that were sized to fill (almost) the entire recess and were pretty easy to apply.
