There was a way to automatically do it a while back, but the 3rd party addon had bugs and the developer support was practically non-existent so I removed it.

Just renewed yesterday, thanks to the reminder message. Not sure if it's been mentioned before, but an "auto-renew" option is something I'd happily opt for.

Let's all try to encourage every member to be a Supporting Member. If you've gotten some good info or advice that has manifested in a better chipping experience for you, then pay it forward and help keep the site going. After all, everything here is @Tommy 's fault.

That's weird because auto-renew has been set to off from the very beginning. I did that based on personal preference. I dislike having to opt-out of something. I feel companies do that in hopes a person forgets to cancel. I rather opt-in instead. Or have the choice prior signing up. I've gotten many requests to offer an auto-renewing membership but never added one. If I did, it would be clearly stated that it does. I would still leave the manual renewing one so users have a choice.

thanks Tommy. Now I'm questioning my memory. I do recall eagerly awaiting the banner ads being back for a few days (for laughs) before I would manually renew my supporting membership. thing is, the ads never showed up which prompted my assumption on the auto-renew.
