Sports Trash Talk (4 Viewers)

Brutal, we gave up sooo many double digit leads this year. :vomit:

Gretzky did 894 in fewer games.

Gretzky has the most SHG while Ovi has the most PPG.

If Gretzky never scored a single goal, he'd still be career points leader.

Hat tip to Ovi, but there's only one Great One.

So not only did the Pirates remove the Clemente logo in favor of an advertisement, the Pirates tore up and recycled all the paver stones in the walkway up to PNC Park that fans paid for.

I saw this too. Infuriating. The city deserves so much better than Nutting. This delusional asshat even said during a live interview that he’s giving the team everything it needs to be successful. I’m truly embarrassed for my hometown. The only consistency they’ve shown since the early 90s is being consistently piss poor:(

Now if only Rooney would stop accepting mediocrity from his football team, I’d be happy.

Seems like it's more important to Rooney to keep the same head coach for 20 years, than to have a head coach who's actually capable of winning.
Couldn’t agree more with the first part.

Tomlin is more than capable of winning…BUT…what he’s proven to be incapable of doing is to adapt and change things up. His current methodology and messages are clearly stale.

Just my .02

Steph Curry = Best shooter of all time.

I don’t understand why that gets him remotely close to GOAT conversations.

His advanced stats, wins over replacement, etc. make no sense to keep him in the top 3 all time, let alone goat.

He changed how the game is played, he changed the over arching direction of strategy and implementation, etc. Idk how people view that specific impact in the conversation, but imo 1) timing is everything and 2) others did as well, admittedly to similar or smaller effect.

Brady had to leave and win without belichick to silence any non goaters. It’s not Steph’s problem he’s played almost his whole career with one of the highest rated organizations, greatest spenders, hof coach and teammate. But it’s still facts. It’s Jordan/pippen convo all over again, but Draymond is central to the entire teams defensive implementation, helping cover curry’s biggest weakness/lapse.

If someone has a good game, and they’re completely unstoppable, but when they have a bad game they simply had a “bad shooting night but was a great decoy” to me can’t be part of goat conversation.

Not cherry picking, just the first stat that popped out at me if true. Steph Curry, greatest shooter of all time, with true shooting % of 62.5% lifetime, LeBron 59%. (Was just looking at stat muse lifetime stats)

Yeahhhhhhh, that’s a no for me dog  :ROFLMAO:

I've been a bandwagon playoff fan for a while now, so I'm not really qualified to evaluate Curry. But from where I'm standing, he's Ray Allen. Great Player. Hall of Famer. But like you say, just because the game is now all about 3's, that doesn't make the best 3 point shooter the goat.

From a basketball perspective, being at his level, there is an impact to the game. He can go 0-20 and still command double/triple teams in the 4th. So many things open up because of him.

And I think that’s where the eyeball test and advanced statistics help his case, going far beyond other shooters.

Still, greatest shooter of all time and central key piece to the offense of multiple championships. Awesome, instant first year HoFer. All the way. Not touching top 5 all time.

Here's something I've wondered about Tomlin.
Antonio Brown and Leveon Bell were phenomenal talents whose careers seemed to be cut short arguably due in part to their own bad judgement. I wonder if those two young men were drafted by different organizations, if they might have matured differently.

I know it's still early in the season, but currently only 4 teams in the American League have a positive run differential. That's just nuts. It wasn't that long ago where the American League seemed to always dominate the National League. Looks like those days are over.

Also, looking at that column (and the RS/RA columns), how is Cleveland tied/ahead of Detroit ???

Since the NL stopped pitchers from hitting & adopted the DH 3 years ago.
