So if navels is in this for the flip, he’d have been better off to just post a FS thread and entertain offers on a “large quantity”. Surely no one is going to suspect he found enough chips to change market value significantly. In this case though, it appears he has.

Either way I think being honest is the better approach!

I'm sure Lee would like to make his money back plus a bit for his efforts, but he's never struck me as someone that is in this game for profit. I'm sure these chips will be well distributed throughout the community at a fair (if not more than fair) price!

I'd say my intentions are, I think in order:

1. have fun
2. trade to round out existing sets
3. bring cool chips into the community
4. fund my chipping habit

And yes I think I could optimize for #4 by being less transparent but at the expense of #1.
