Rounders Cologne
Manufacturer: Classic Poker Chips / CPC / 2023

Inlay Designer: designed by myself
As everyone can see, this chipset was inspired by John's incredible Moonlight Tournament set. I was stunned as I saw his set the first time and I was blown away by its beauty. For me, the Moonlight Tournament set is without a doubt among the best CPC custom sets and I instantly fell in love with these color combos. So I made a request if it would be ok, to use John's color combos for my CPC set while using my own inlay design. He replied that he would love to see me creating my own combinations to make it completely my own set, instead of just copy paste his colors. So I had to change my first plan and I ended up in adding something new to his design. I have to apologize that I couldn't resist using the DG green and Charcoal combos, but the beauty of these two chips has been way too tempting for a weak soul!!! This Charcoal chip is such a stunner in real life and for me it feels like my own set on the one site and an honest homage to John's superb Moonlight set!
The "tiny" story behind the theme: After ain't playing poker for almost 5 years, I invited some friends back in octobre 2022 and the fire inside ignited and the love for poker chips instantly came back again! So, 15 years after I made my one and only ASM order "The D & A Casino", a set that me and my wife are still in love with, I start thinking about a new CPC custom cash set. After some silly ideas and try and errors, I ended up with a combination of the beautiful City that I live near to = "Cologne", and the movie that I love "Rounders" - so "Rounders Cologne" has been born and in the end, I really like this theme a lot. After a lot of different lay outs I ended up using a background silhouette of the "Kölner Dom", one of the worlds biggest gothic cathedrals. I created some fading color effects for the backgrounds, matching either the base color or an edgespot color, based on the superb CPC Colour Code/Marching List by @timinater. The color matching is really impressive and I never expected the inlay colors come that close to the clay colors.
Kudos @timinater.
I ordered 680 chips, receiving 730 in total after 181 days of waiting. Four chips have been damaged during shipping (the USPS box looked like it had some sparring with Mike Tyson), so the extra chips cover that loss easily!
The chips has been oiled already and the colors really shine right now.
I knew that the DG Peach chip with the DG Peach Inlay color beside the Charcoal DG Arc Yellow Inlay is by far not the best choice - at first I wanted to Retro Red chip as the 2 Euro chip. But I also wanted the DG Peach chip in play all the time because it's one of my favorite CPC colors - damn it's hot. In a last second action I asked David for a color change and I am very happy, that it wasn't too late.
There is one little failure in the inlay designs. David used an older ai.file for the 50ct. chip and I ain't recognized after I received the final artwork proof, so it's also my fault and well, this little failure is hard to notice so I really can live with it puh....
I hope you enjoy this little set. I absolutely love it and couldn't be happier.
DG Green / Butterscotch / White / Green
Charcoal / Black / Grey / DG Arc Yellow
DG Peach / Canary / DG Tiger / Mandarin Red (the Canary looks almost green when in stacks and it really looks awesome)
Blurple / Light Blue / DG Peacock / Retro Lavender (I ordered Lavender, but I realised the production „error“ over 7 months later)
Retro Red / Bright White / Retro Lavender / DG Pink
The camera sensor ain't catches the beauty of this Retro Red very good - it's like a wine red and looks stunning
some pictures taken with my smartphone - sorry for the intense orange
