Sun mold.
Hell no!
Yes -- dye-sub printing completely covers the debossed areas, as evidenced by their other polyclay chip designs. Are we sure sunfly can print into the debossed mold features? Or will the edges of those features look white when viewed from an angle
Design parameters for new Polyinno mold with debossed pattern:
Not under consideration:
- 43mm diameter size
- 25mm center recess for laminated label application
- matte surface finish
- debossed outer ring
- debossed design elements between outer ring and label recess
- matte-finish rolling edge
- sharper rolling edge if possible
Looking for something fresh and generic, with multi-purpose applications for a wide variety of future projects.
- any type of THC imitation mold, such as Hairbrush & Scissors
- interlocking key
- crowns
- text
- cards
- dice
I love that last one. Reminds me of the Paradise mold.
... where we're basically replicating a compression clay, but faking it using painted-on spots instead of clay inserts. I'm not sure that's a great aesthetic.
Dave, I think this question was asked, but I couldn't find the answer. Are you fairly well set on Sun-Fly producing this, or are you going to give the Cards mold manufacturer a shot at it?Design parameters for new Polyinno mold with debossed pattern:

Not under consideration:
- Star mold -- six equally spaced 5-pointed stars (pointed outwards), possibly with a short curved line or simple design element spaced between stars. Using six elements vs eight minimizes the cluttered effect while also minimizing the amount of displaced material.
- Triangle mold -- equilateral triangles between a narrow outer and inner ring, where the base of each alternating up-and-down triangles creates the ring line. Thin recessed lines; similar to web mold design but a less busy application of the concept.
- Horseshoe mold -- series of equally spaced horseshoes.
- Eagle mold -- series of equally spaced eagle head or head/body images.
- Suits mold -- lots of design direction options here, including the Four Suits logo (as-is or modified). There is a variety of individual suit image options -- either grouped together, spread out, paired, or even using abstract imagery.
A few other designs are also under current consideration. Looking for something fresh and generic, with multi-purpose applications for a wide variety of future projects. Feedback and suggestions welcome.

Still undecided.Dave, I think this question was asked, but I couldn't find the answer. Are you fairly well set on Sun-Fly producing this, or are you going to give the Cards mold manufacturer a shot at it?
Also, any updates on the possibility of a sharper rolling edge?
Thanks. I think this could be a real game changer. New mold, sharper edges. Reasonable pricing. I love it! Of all I have seen so far, my vote goes for the Star mold.
Thanks! Just realized I completely missed the part about these having laminated labels rather than printed center artwork. So like the PolyInno Prestige chips, correct? Yeah, I completely understand going with Sun-Fly for that style.Still undecided.
Sun-Fly is a well known entity and PCF vendor with excellent customer service and reasonable group buy pricing, and has absorbed new mold costs in the past for PCF group buys.
Quoted new mold costs are cheaper with the Chinese vendor (which may be irrelevant if Sun-Fly waives the charges), and the per-chip costs would probably be less (but unconfirmed at this point). I'm waiting on first hand evaluation of the cards mold chips to establish their dye-sub print and mold quality capability. Their ability to print high-quality laminated labels remains unknown.
I'm generally inclined to pay extra to get a better quality product, but no decision has been made on sourcing at this time.
If this is possible you can count me in for pitching in on a moldSharp edges would be a major key for me.
