Hi! I am getting a set of 600 chips with denominations of .25/1/5/25 and 100 for versatility of .25/5 up to 1/2 (or 1/3) home games. I am wondering what you all think the best way to break up these 600 chips are so that I have enough chips for my most common .25/.5 game, but could also play a 1/2 game if we wanted to. Thanks!

.25 - 100
1 - 100
5 - 300
25 - 80
100 - 20

Some people worry that that's not enough $1s/don't want to make change as often. If you're in that camp, I'd go:

.25 - 100
1 - 150
5 - 250
25 - 80
100 -20

If your 1/2 game will play bigger, I'd go:

.25 - 100
1 - 100
5 - 300
25 - 60
100 - 40

You can mess with these based on how big your 1/2 or 1/3 game will play. But the basic idea is that you won't need more than 100 .25s and I would argue no more than 100 $1, you'll need lots and lots of $5s, and the $25s/$100s can be tailored to fit your total bank. Adding a barrel of $500s is an idea too, if they are available.

Sounds good! I think since we usually play 9-handed what I might do is .25-125, 1-150, 5-200, 25-75, 100-25. I feel like this is close to what you were saying with just a few more .25 and 1 chips.
