$500 starting stack (1 rebuy per person until the beginning of round 9)
$1 x 20
$5 x 16
$25 x 8
$50 x 4 (only reason why we use 50 is because of the chip colour that people like. I know you're not supposed to do 25/50 together)

I don't like the 100% blind increases. I'd rather start with less and have more consistent blind level jumps. I wouldn't use $50 chips either, don't gain enough, I'd rather use $100s. I also like shorter blind levels later in a tournament, fewer and better players and will still get more hands in per round.

Thank you, "shorter blind levels later in a tournament, fewer and better players and will still get more hands in per round" do you mean increase the 20min blind levels later on?

I usually make them shorter, 15 minutes instead of 20. You get a lot of hands in when there are only 2, 3, or 4 players instead of 8.

I have a T1 base tournament set that I run T300 starting stack. My blinds levels are more gradual. You have a big jump from 5/10 - 10/20 and I also have a blind level of 40/80 to keep from having a big jump there as well.

Have you done a post about your setup? Can you send me your structure. Thanks.

Use T1000 stacks and 2/4 opening blinds -- it's still 250bb stacks, but play is much better with smoother jumps:

L1 2/4
L2 3/6
L3 4/8
L4 6/12
L5 8/16
remove T1 chips
L6 10/20
L7 15/30
L8 20/40
L9 30/60
L10 40/80
remove T5 chips
L11 50/100
L12 75/150
L13 100/200
L14 150/300
remove T25 chips
L15 200/400
L16 300/600
L17 400/800
L18 600/1200
L19 800/1600
remove T100 chips
L20 1000/2000
L21 1500/3000
L22 2000/4000
L23 3000/6000
L24 4000/8000

Beautiful. What would you do for starting stack? How many per denomination

I am Suprised no one mentioned don't freaking use 25 and 50 denominators together yet
Second post.

Starting stack options:
1s/5s/25s/100s

15/17/16/5
10/18/20/4
10/18/12/6
10/13/13/6

10 or 15 $1s, then close to a barrel of $5s, then just short a barrel of $25s, then the rest $100s

I don't have a printout of my blind levels handy, but mine is more gradual but I'll send it to you when I do. I guess a couple things seem really important that we haven't discussed. How long do u want your tournament to run = end? 5:40 is your last blind level. Are you ok with it lasting that long? What chips do you currently have or are you looking to purchase. I have my T1 based tournament structure to fit the chips that I own. BGinGA is the expert on this topic but my chip numbers wouldn't match up to his structure very well. I would definitely need more higher valued chips than what I own for as many people as I sometimes host.
