Cash Game Playing against a friend in a Casino - Cash / Tournament (1 Viewer)

Mrs Zombie and I play casino tournaments together, and while we rarely start at the same table, we have finished at the same table numerous times. I've heard other players make snide comments because we were seated together.

Here's the thing. We play each other - a lot. We have many nights at home where we play heads up, and it isn't for bragging rights, it's for our "brown bag" money - our personal caches.

This has made us very good at identifying each other's "normal" game. Nearly 20 years together makes any move that is "not normal" stick out like a sore thumb, so we are just best to play our game. This may lead me to fold in situations or raise in other situations, based on personal insight. It's not soft play when I fold a boat, because I know she's on something better. It's also not chip dumping if I bet big then fold - she knows my bluffs. I hate to say it, but it just is what it is - good play. We can make calls like Daniel Negreanu, but only when we're facing each other. I have eliminated her from a tournament before (although I did knock her out in second place ).

Cash games, now that's different. When we get heads-up, about 90-95% of the time we will check it to the river. It isn't affecting anyone else at the table (though they have a better chance to pick up our ranges), and why bet more when all we are doing is giving the house a bigger pot to rake?

The other 5-10% are home games - and the frequency which we will shout "pot-POT-POT" at each other is downright outrageous. Home games however are rake free, so it's on.
