Just saw this thread for the first time. I’ve always enjoyed the occasional cigar but Mrs Tree hates the smell of them so I took up pipes about ten years ago. I have about nine briars and a meerschaum.

I haven’t pulled out my pipe in a while. Beeen smoking cigars mostly. I’ve only smoked it twice since I got the custom

Dammit i miss that game. It was such a fun group! Before got there, they played a bunch of random mixed games. I convinced them to play holdem and we had a better turn out. It was so fun. Not many places you can smoke cigars and play cards. I miss that chip set. I tried to trade Carl with some Samurais which i think are better quality, but he wouldnt. I'm still trying to find a way to get those HIgh Rollers back.

Paul has a nice set Apache Poker Elite chips

My pipe guy is finishing up my final one.... Taken about a year to get it done (because of drama, not him)

Gotta say, he does amazing work....

That's a beautiful one. I don't smoke too much, but I love smoking during games if it's allowed.

yeah i used to play in a homegame that allowed smoking so i would either have cigar or pipe tobacco....now i mostly smoke cigars on my commute...we got a new firepit so i imagine i'll be having some pipetobacco with the fire pit

I used to be a Cigar Junkie. But pipe tobacco is just so damn cheap.

Tobacco will never be as cheap as it is today. I say this as I am over 100lbs cellared . . . plus pipe tobacco has broader flavor profiles than cigars not including aro's. Nothing will beat a 10+ year old straight Virginia.

Nice thread. Just came across it.
Combines two of my hobbies.

Do you inhale pipe smoke? Or is it like a cigar where you kind of just draw it into your mouth?

Or am I supposed to inhale cigars? lol

No you do not inhale pipe tobacco or cigars. I was a cigarette smoker for a number of years but if I inhale just a little of cigar or pipe tobacco I will go into coughing fits of rage.

Cigars and pipe tobacco are cured and you will absorb the nicotine through the pores of your cheeks so they do not have the same side affects as cigarettes.

Started smoking tobacco pipe again, bought a few vintage pipes off eBay. One really cool VanRoy adjustomatic from the 1940’s that’s unsmoked- very cool little pipe. My favorite is an unnamed vintage bulldog pipe with a deep and wide bowl that smokes very well. I bought several tobaccos, some aromatics that smell great in the tin, but aren’t good room smells and are a bit harsh. I ended up buying some Mac Baren symphony at a local shop, which I liiked a lot. Then researched online and found Peterson Nightcap… lovely. I just ordered a Savinelli rusticated billiard camouflage . Can’t wait to sip from it.

Wait until you see how the tobacco landscape has changed with STG taking everything over.

Oh, please give me a recommendation. My wife tolerates me smoking in the house, I need a good room smelling pleasant tobacco to try. I’ve spent hundreds this past month buying randoms tins to try.

I haven’t been smoking much in the way of aromatics lately. Been mostly English and Balkans for me. And those are definitely not happy wife/happy life blends.

That being said, I’m hearing great things about Cult Blood Red Moon if you like cherry.

And there’s always the ubiquitous Lane 1Q you can buy in bulk so you can try just a little without wasting a lot of money if you don’t like it.

I’ve purchased a few English. I thought the Peterson night cape was an English. I have some Cornell and Diehl star of the east and some GL Pease quiet nights. But they smell like ass… so I’m waiting to pack my pipe for a solo drive with those.

I’ve lost a lot of my favorite blends since STG bought MacBaren and and their US arm Sutliffe. They've closed down the MacBaren factory in Denmark and the Sutliff factory in Va and discontinued most of their lines.

That killed the Hearth and Home line offered by Pipes and Cigars along with a ton of other lines.

Irritating.

I won’t be able to get any more symphony? Oh no, Mac Baren symphony and original choice are some of my regulars.
