Paulson Top Hat Poker Chips Pre Sale (2 Viewers)

I'd like to see and orange 25k chip too. Same as the quarter chip, but larger denom.

If you're getting a cash set, you have no need for a 25k chip and if you're getting a tournament set, you have no need for a quarter. Thus, they will never be in the table together.

Anyone know the best/smallest single table T10,000 set with 12x12x5x6 stacks? Chips must be purchased in 25 increments.

This is wrong. All my single table tournaments have .25 chips in the starting stack, and we always chip up to 25,000 at some point.

125x 25
125x 100
50x 500
75x 1000
25x 5000

400 chips
^ This, although one could actually go smaller -- 375 chips -- by excluding the T5000 chips altogether. The set already has sufficient chips to color-up the T25 and T100 chips.

I really hope Apache swaps the colors for the next set. I love the cash set colors, but I can't order a tournment set when I dislike 3 of the 5 colors. Normaly, I'm good with a standard black chip, but with the pink and brown the overall 25-500 is to drab for my taste. Adding a nice 25k chip would go a long way towards helping the overall look of the tournment set. Still, I'm very excited to see where this leads. I think Apache has a winner on their hands.

Unfortunately, there aren't many color options for these chips. The only ones available that are not used in the set are Blurple and Blue which are both very dark.

GPI has us by the damn balls. I don’t even think they even intended for their promotional advertising chips to be used this way but it’s awesome that we are doing it!

I’m new to the pokerchip community, so have a lot to learn, but what material is these made of? Is it the same normal top hat and cane clay? Because for me these look just like ceramics.

They are made with Paulson clay. They have the huge inlay and no mold (called a lammer mold, I have recently learned). Check the renders in the PCF promo group buy thread or pics of the PCF 5 year anniversary chips. These are the same "promo" chips as those.

Yes indeed. :D
The clay may or may not be the same formulation used in Paulson-branded chips, probably no one or close to no one on this board knows that info with absolute certainty.
But Paulson-quality is accurate.
And by the way - based on seeing the orange, you will be very pleasantly surprised with the clay colors in real life.
My one concern with this particular set is how well the inlay color will match the clay color. I feel like it will be tough to match well, and could give a odd effect to the overall aesthetic.

Well, these are 8.5g, so I'd say it's a different formula...
Also a different mold, which can dramatically affect weight. Larger inlays also displace more clay, and typically weigh less.

Yes, and GPI's track record of accurately color-matching inlays to clay color in the casino world isn't all that great (assuming they even tried). And the vibrant colors of these chips will be particularly hard to match. I think they did a great job on the fire PCF 5 Year chip.

I came to the forum to see how much WTHC were going for (wanted to add to my current collection for cash games). Good timing, found this thread and decided to go with this instead of plopping 3-4 bucks per chip. Should be a nice compliment to my current tournament chips, kind of like the idea of them being differentiated by style (mold vs lammer). Thanks!

Right? Anything is possible, but what is more likely - that gpi has a discount clay formula that they mix separately just to use just on these promotional chips, or that they just use the same clay formula on all their chips?

they just use the same clay formula on all their chips
We already know that's not true, based on the 41mm Paulson Pro chips that by their own admission did not contain the expensive materials used to add weight (and replaced lead long ago).

Who knows if they are using the BCC color additives with their own base clay (which would makes sense), but that doesn't necessarily make the mixture the same consistency or weight of chips using their Paulson chip formula (of which we know the weight varies based on mere color additives, not to mention other variables).

TIL about playing monopoly with poker chips

Who knows? I haven’t handled any of the promotional chips, so I can’t even guess. But I was just speculating it was a possibility. I mean, notwithstanding that pro series (which was how many years ago?) it seems like it would be more efficient to use one clay for everything.

This inlay design and denoms would work great to use these chips for Monopoly too. In case anybody needed a second reason to rationalize a chip purchase. ;)

I might need a set for that reason. FYI, the standard Monopoly breakdown is 30 bills each of 1-5-10-20-50-100-500, I believe.

Great idea!
