If I'm going to Vegas for the sole purpose of picking up chips for myself (which was the hypothetical under discussion), why would a member not want to compensate me for my expenses if I also pick up some chips for him while I'm at it?

I think the average member would be willing to compensate you for your efforts. That, in my opinion, is a general courtesy. However, I do respect the opinion of some who think that it’s insane to go and buy cash chips to markup a couple hundred percent.

I’m personally in the boat of “to each their own” and if I find your request reasonable, I’ll purchase, if not, I’ll keep it moving.

I gotta say @RivieraDanny did me a solid & had zero incentive to do so ... not just "shipped chips from the cage since he was already there", but also had to front several thousand bucks, then lug 'em & pack 'em & ship 'em ... all for a relative stranger on the internet. I tipped him valet parking and a steak dinner for two -- seems a win-win.

I also paid a serious markup for a few racks of early $1s and was more than happy to do so. I've had Wednesday afternoon bar tabs that were larger, so still a win-win from my perspective.

Point being, we're missing the bigger picture: an opportunity to "rent" live, sharp THCs harvested during the WSOP at a famous Vegas hotel! I mean, c'mon.

I’m going to go back and may pick up some but no orders or anything like that. I’m still going to get every good Ballys 5 that has no flea bites until they rebrand that place. I’ll definitely be there if we get a hard date on the cage closing for Ballys 5s. I hope it happens late in the year. With any luck this community could haul a dozen more racks out of there. It’s the last shaped inlay Vegas 5 out there with any good chips left. It’s a unicorn right now. As far as Paris chips go, I think all the chips in that cage go into a vault and do not get circulated again until next WSOP. I think the opportunity for newish chips next year will be there.

WSOP cage for cash games is the correct one. She has to go into the WSOP. It's in the convention space back between Ballys & Paris. If she goes to the Paris casino cage, it'll always be a no.
