Reading up on oiling clay poker chips. Is this a necessary step to ensure longevity and or performance of the chips or more for aesthetic reasons? Any issues with chips sticking together or anything like that in your experience?

Not a necessity, it’s aesthetics. Greasy fingers will do the same job eventually, but oiling them speeds up the process.

Thank you for the advice. I have some CPC sample sets that are quite chalky and rough. Just didn’t want to ruin anything!
