Joke’s on you!!! We’ve never won anything majorWas that the last time they won anything major?
Would not surprise me, although I don't think he can save them from relegation. They've been shockingly bad this season.Anyone know much about Southampton? Rumors swirling that Jesse Marsch will be appointed manager there.
Only that they didn’t give their last manager much of a chance. I’d probably avoid if I was Marsch. Needs to pick his next job carefully as if he doesn’t do well that’ll be him finished in England and possibly Europe. No need to rush out of the frying pan and into the fire.Anyone know much about Southampton? Rumors swirling that Jesse Marsch will be appointed manager there.

Thanks. I have been reading some fan postings on one of their supporter sites. Seems many see it as a "best we will get" appointment and that his style would fit somewhat well with the previous manager's. Some hope it will be a long-term hire with him staying on to coach in the Championship if they are relegated.Only that they didn’t give their last manager much of a chance. From Marsch's point of view, definitely agree with @BonScot.Thanks. I have been reading some fan postings on one of their supporter sites. I have the same thoughts. There are certainly some fans who do see it in a negative/downgrading manner, but I would say many seem to understand what he is walking into. I saw some folks saying they would take him over Lampard and Gerrard, but also some wishing for Benitez (who wasn't in the realm of possibility most likely). From Marsch's point of view, definitely agree with @BonScot.
Although I hope Southampton fans don't see him as the "best we will get" in a negative / downgrading manner. If they get him, I think they'll be punching well above their weight as a club, personally.

Well, that de-escalated quickly. Talks have broken down. Sounds like Southampton wouldn't give him a guaranteed contract beyond the remainder of the season. Looks like he heeded your advice. Is one of you his agent? From Marsch's point of view, definitely agree with @BonScot.

Proof, if ever there was, that being a good player doesn’t mean that you’ll be a good manager.Lampard and Gerrard
Money talks, sadly. What is going on in England with these crazy dictator states buying their football teams? How is this good for the game down there?
The German model based on fan ownership is so much better.
But it seems to be unique to England (exception being PSG).Money talks, sadly.
I guess the appeal with Man United specifically is that it's such a huge global brand. Regardless, it's all a crock of shite. But it seems to be unique to England (exception being PSG).
In case any dictators have PCF accounts: There are plenty of Swedish teams... just sayin'.What is going on in England with these crazy dictator states buying their football teams?

I genuinely wouldn’t want one to own my club. If you go to a game in England the atmosphere is awful. You can hear a pin drop half the time. Maybe we’re just spoiled with the fans here but Germany has great crowds too.In case any dictators have PCF accounts: There are plenty of Swedish teams... just sayin'.
Dammit!!!Mentally checking out, didn't process an attacker could still be there. Looked like he even tried a 'look away' pass. Classic
3:21 on this video for a better one, a few others were decent too.
