That said - I think this is better for the game IMHO. The Croatia offsides call was really bad. I suspect that rule will be changed as a result. But not after having left a very bitter taste for a lot of folks.

The last thing we need is another game decided by another controversial VAR call.

Let the best of both teams play and let the best team win. I personally think it should have been a yellow card.

FIFA are beyond corrupt. They have destroyed what little sporting integrity is left in the game.

Ronaldo should have been suspended for the first two games of this World Cup following his red card against Ireland. Messi should have been sent off in the opening game. Now this “suspension” of a red card for the host nation just makes a mockery of their own rules.

And then there’s the “hydration” breaks…

It's not "better for the game".

What is better for the game is that politics stay out of the game.

Balogun has been rigjtfully sent off. So he has to skip the next game. If a BE player was sent off, he'd never see his suspension getting cancelled vs. USA.

Three statements, all equally true. The red was correct. He HAS to skip the next game. A Belgian in the same situation would never been allowed to play a "trump card".
