I promised Mrs Baroo this would be last call:rolleyes:

Found a couple of Pre-Release bottles at K&L that I'd love to get. The store only ships liquor within the state though.

If any of you in California could help me with the re-shipping, it would be much, much appreciated. Shoot me a DM if you'd be up for it.

Cheers!

You can ship through rarestorsge with them but it’s a bit of a headache. Getting an order this way rn and it’s slow and expensive but decided better than having someone reship a dozen bottles

What would one pay for this bottle? Hoping I didn’t get ripped off.

I think $150 or less is a good price. But speaking of this bottle, are there more differences between EHT Barrel Proof and EHT Small Batch than just water? I find the BP to be one of the best pours in bourbon, while the small batch doesn’t do much for me.

Quick neck pour review. This thing is chocolate chocolate chocolate. I mean from what little I have been able to find out about Low Gap they used to do lots of weird finishing and this bottle is new charred oak with no finishing but you could convince be there’s literal dark chocolate syrup in this.

65% corn, 25% malted barley, 15% malted rye

Nose
Mocha and yellow birthday cake sweetness

Palate
Chocolate and dark tobacco. No sweetness, but a little malty funk. I like dark dark chocolate, like 95% or even 100% and this is right there. I mean it’s crazy.

The mouthfeel is lovely. The distiller trained in cognac and this is double distilled in cognac stills and so it’s a little velvety but that is weakened by how crazy hot it drinks. Most of what I drink is cask strength and even giving this 10 min of rest first it drinks way above its proof to me.

Finish
The finish is super long, a little drying, and carries all the dark notes. Tobacco, leathery.

I’m not big on numeric ratings so I’ll say that it’s pretty solid but will probably get reserved for showing off to folks who can nerd out on the unique flavors. Not really a shelfer.

Any one want this? I paid $2400 during peak market. Will let go for $2000 obo

Need money for meetup bankroll. Will not ship.

Crazy week at work, but I finished up the last of my presentations today and then got notice this evening that a big submission we made was formally approved. Culmination of like 2+ years of work.

I've been trying to finish off random bottles lately, but fuck that noise, its time to celebrate. The weekend starts tonight and the word is #NothingButBangers

I know this bottle can be polarizing but it's one of my favorites. Layers and layers of rich dark vanilla and caramel and musty oak, just delicious.

Congrats Matt!!

Did I make a big mistake passing on an Old Overholt 12yr single barrel cask strength last week? I was very tempted, but finding a couple of Laphroaig 10yr cask strengths caught my attention.
You know me though, I'm a rye whore.....

My baby girl graduated college today! Four years moved by way too fast, but I am excited for the opportunities she has in front of her! SaluteView attachment 1677402Warming up with a banger after a long day finishing with a 3 hour drive back home. Love this OBSQ!
Congratulations!

Speaking of celebrations with daughters, my son found the coolest thing. A bottle of Blanton's with the dump date being his daughter's birth date. He's putting this aside, and the two of them (hopefully me too) will crack it on her 21st birthday. She's 6 right now.
