Was watching the drums and drams live and had to do a double take @Pinkdan, you sent cam into his hole lol!

Batch 17 was my first stagg (and only jr) - will have another sip in your honor this weekend!

Also agreed with his thoughts on eht bp 13 - just tastes young…will have to revisit it to see if I can pull out any of the yeasty notes he mentioned

@Pinkdan and Cam are BFFs. All he talks about is “Cam, Cam, Cam…”

Hahahahahaha

Very cool!! I still don’t understand how his ears can tolerate the OG AirPods lol

I’m tempted to get in on one of his picks now, the preservation one sounds like it could be interesting (so does the Oakley, but I don’t think I could stomach that price lol)

Yeah man. He reviewed stagg B17 a while back and spoke poorly of it. So I wanted to send it in a blind just to truly see what he thought. So I was tickled when he thought it was WLW!
Haha, got em!

So it’s funny too, on the EHT B13 - he said that someone told him about a funky note they were getting on a patron zoom call - that was also me. I’m glad he finally found it too. I actually really enjoy B13. But I’ve only tried it once, and I’m not super well versed in the different batches.

Yeah every single pick he’s done I’ve liked. The guy is batting 1000. I might pull the trigger on one of the 20 yr hh bottles. But yeah, they’re silly expensive.

Listen… I respect how much of a nerd he is. And he doesn’t annoy me like I know he does for you lol

I'm still convinced that he cheated in Matt Madness!

A Friday surprise stagg 24d drop. It tastes like a much more traditional stagg jr profile, has some mocha and damp wood notes that let the spice shine on the mid palette with a nice leather finish with very subtle fruit. Really nice batch!

Went in to grab the journeyman. For $60, it’s a super solid proof and age. Very minty and rye forward with sharp barrel influence and a sweet mid palette and long finish (60/40 corn/rye).

Really hope we get more bottles like this for $60, but I know that’s probably wishful thinking. Cheers, especially to all those libating again!

Did I do OK here??

(I've never posted "shelf pics" from my local inebritorium, but I have a sense I did OK here. I adore the Eagle Rare 10 year and haven't had the E.H. Taylor (I know... I'm a bad, bad monkey...).).

The stock at home has been depleted down to single pours and half pours of a half-dozen different bottles that I can't bring myself to "kill". I got these hoping they will push me over the edge to finish those "hangar-queens" sitting on the shelf and move on.

You did great! Paid retail for each which is a huge win! Nice snag

This probably the first one of these that nearly strays off-profile. It still has the typical banana cream & brown sugar goodness, but mixes in a bit of sweet red fruit that I rarely taste in JDSBBP. And she kicks pretty well at 135p.....

I wonder if Bourbon prices will be suppressed (in the US) with Canada implementing 25% tariffs on US hooch. The Canadian market is somewhere between the size of California and Texas so not sure what kind of impact it will have or how long it will take for impacts to be felt (if any). I guess we are about to find out.

In Canada booze tariffs will almost certainly be passed on directly to customers. Apparently in some provinces that directly facilitate the distribution of liquor, American booze is being removed from the shelves completely. I'm not sure I quite understand the rationale for not selling product you already have but this is where we are at. Needless to say the outlook is not great for bourbon enjoyers north of the border. I'm lucky that I already have a stockpile of your corn whiskey!

They are probably pulling their current stock so that after the tariff is implemented, they can put them back on the shelf at the new post-tariff price!

Welcome to a very, very deep and expensive hole! LOL!

I think if I could pick only one whisky to drink for the rest of my life that is still sort of affordable (although not easy to find), it would be the Springbank 12 Cask Strength.
I told a friend last night “If there was only one scotch in the world, I wouldn’t be mad if it was this Springbank 15.” Now I need to find a cask strength.

Tell me I'm crazy: moreso than any other type of whiskey, I find Irish Whiskeys just get better and better as you make your way through the glass (and subsequent refills....), each sip seems to build on each other. There are a few bourbons that do that as well, but nothing like a good irish. I always leave them for the weekend, because the chances of drinking half a bottle without blinking are real lol
