These three sets right here are ones I have owned for 40 years. These were OG, and the ultimate OG set is the grey dice at the bottom. This gray set was one of two sets that were used during a GenCon session with Gary Gygax. The other “Gygax” set is currently in the hands of my college age daughter.

I only question the OG-ness of the grey dice because they appear to be pre-inked. The "true" OG dice required a crayon to fill in the numerical indents to make them readable.

ya. I get it. I have some really old dice here. And I got pretty good at using crayons.
But notice even on these gray translucent dice, there are slight imperfection of my crayon job. These dice are at least 40 years old.
But i take it as a compliment that you thought they were pre-inked.

I'm not new to gaming but am new to TTRPG. I got the D&D books in the 80s but never played. I did, however, get roped into a Pathfinder 2e campaign. Liking it so far, but there is a lot to learn!

I really enjoyed DMing PF1 and 5th edition, hundreds of hours. I only ran through the tutorial for 2e and didn't like it as much but that's always going to be the case with a new thing, so ignore my 3 hour opinion.
Not specifically answering your question, but to explain the differences I saw in the previous version. Pathfinder was more like DnD 3.5: more rules, more like a video game to build characters, while DnD 5e had more freedom. Not saying either is bad or good, just felt different when playing. Some of my players preferred the Pathfinder challenge to make the strongest character while others preferred having more room in 5th edition.
Pathfinder has some incredible premade campaigns. Yes there's some snobs that play homemade only, but my gosh the Council of Thieves was fun.

I rarely do things half-assed. I decided im getting back into gaming, and one of my favorite aspects was 3-D printing and painting minis. I decided to go ahead and snag the HeyGears RS Turbo resin printer, one of the best hobbiest printers available. I look forward to getting back into things again!

I subbed to a mini sculptor/artist patreon and snagged a ton of amazing pieces. I’ve been running my 3D printer practically non stop. I also realized I wanted an airbrush, after my experiences hand painting tons of minis a few years back. The priming and base coat time savings alone makes it worth it … here are a few pics of the setup, some of the prints, etc. haven’t gotten to painting anything quiet yet. I’ll be switching to gray resin, as I’m not a fan of black resin. Makes it harder to see details until paint is applied.

Liked them all for different reasons.
Pathfinder 2 was not my favorite at all
Pathfinder 1 is by far my favorite system ever.
Yes, there is quite a bit of math and every level
Requires a new character sheet and an accountant but game play, balance and content are all outstanding.
No matter the system, casters always overpower martials but Pathfinder did a STELLAR job with Ranger and Paladin. More so than any other system I have played.

With all the online resources available now the character sheet creation and updating is simple. I update in Pathbuilder and print a new pdf. Numbers are automatically updated.
As I mentioned before I never played D&D but one difference I read the crits are different. D&D is fixed 5% (1 or 20), while PF2 is variable based on the +/- modifier. I think I prefer that since any buff/debuff will affect the crits percentage.
I really hope the fan theory of stranger things comes true and these kids have just been playing DnD the entire time. Would explain why this season went off the rails.

I hosted a first time D&D game last weekend for my great, grand nephew age 11 plus two friends. A good time was had by all - though everyone died at the end.
One little guy thought he was the son of a God and kept asking for divine intervention at almost every turn.
Another little guy thought he could learn necromancy by leading (dragging) a dead armadillo around.
As can be expected, they tried to rob each other blind and then fight to the near death rather than work on their mission.,
Last encounter - they find a school yard in a hobbit village and decide to kill the teacher and each kidnap a kid as a follower. As might be expected, the local populus didn't approve and tore the 2nd level offenders to shreds. Oh well, better luck next time.

I played D&D & AD&D back in the day. Car Wars, Star Fleet Battles, Champions & my personal favorite Traveller were my jam as well.
Now I feel like booting up the Apple IIe to play One on One or Lode Runner lol

I wanna say 250ml is the estimate but it probably uses a little less. At $20-25 per 1L bottle, its around $5 in resin costs. Buying a sculpt like that would be $40, painted itd be $150++.
I was just in one of my local bigger game stores, and they have a wall of custom painted minis and sculpts for sale.. it wasnt cheap.
It’s a great combination!
Also, those little card holders work ok for overflow / just taking a few dice somewhere.
Mine are a combination of playing D&D 30 years ago and MTG off and on since then. The comically oversized dice were handy during Covid-era webcams games.
I tried to get my kids to play D&D a year ago, but they weren’t very interested. Keep hoping Stranger Things will pique their curiosity
