I totally get what you’re saying. For me, most of my poker is at home games with friends. I really enjoy the mix of friendly competition, socializing, and just focusing on improving my game without worrying about big money.
I’ll go to a card room or casino occasionally, but like you, it’s not really the same vibe. Sometimes the atmosphere can feel a bit tense, and the social aspect is missing.
I think the best part about home games is that you can play seriously, but it’s still fun and relaxed.
