New Paulson Chip Rack Supplier (3 Viewers)

They do sell 43mm & 50mm racks. I think @Drumhoss said they don't stock them. They have to be special ordered.

Didn't realize they sell carriers too. How did you find out they sell them? Love to see some pics when you get it.

I asked bob and Kathy about carriers when I called. They said that they have very high quality 6,8,10 and 12 rack carriers. 6-$115, 8-$125, 10-$135, and 12-$145. They emailed me part of a page from their catalog.

I bought 3 of their 10-rack carriers recently. They don't stock them and instead are manufactured to order -- at least that's what they told me. Took about 10 days. They arrived very well packaged in a very large box.

To be honest though, I'm not sure they're higher quality than any other acrylic birdcages. I'm just using them for display purposes at the moment, so they'll do fine. But there are imperfections that would prevent me from considering them "very high quality". One of the "domes" is uneven, so it doesn't sit completely flat on the base. There are noticeable bubbles in the seam adhesive between the top and sides of the dome. And the handle and base aren't so thick that I wouldn't worry about moving 1000 chips in these even across rooms or up/down stairs.

It's also worth noting the interior size easily accommodates the 43mm Chipco racks sold by Apache, in case that's a requirement.

I don't mean to disparage their products. Both Bob and Kathy were great to talk to and very accommodating. I'm ultimately content with what I got so I didn't even bring up any of these relatively minor issues with them. Just set your expectations accordingly.

The chip racks on the other hand... really great. Chips fit very snug. Maybe a hair too snug for factory fresh paulsons, but a play session or two (or just squeeze them together as you put them in) and the chips fit perfectly, as others have mentioned.

Agree 100% with EVERYTHING @Asano said! I actually had one 600 chip carrier (of 3 that I ordered) show up with a chip in the bottom. Must have happened during shipping. Although it was packed remarkably well. They had me ship it back to them using their UPS account and will be sending me a new one, no questions asked. Same here. Racks for 39mm are PERFECT, carriers are ok. Their service is remarkably good.

Can you share pricing on their chip carriers?
See 5-6 prior posts.

I actually never got an email receipt from them, and I don't remember off the top of my head what Bob quoted me. I just have the total amount for the entire order.

But the numbers Sparty quoted seem about right to me:

Does anyone have an email to contact Kathy at? I tried the email from their website but it didn't work. Also I don't want to call long distance from Canada

Thanks for all the info. I'll be ordering a bunch of racks. I'm tired of my PNY's rattling around in cheap racks.

Can someone tell me if CPC chips and SUN-FLY hybrids will fit into the tubes on the Unique racks?

In the racks I have it appears, at a glance, like they fit.. but in actuality, they chips don't quite reach the bottom. They're actually held by the corners of the racks.

The FDL, Scroll, and Circle-Square molds seems to be on the bigger side, while my more worn Paulsons fit just fine. You need to look closely to see whether the chips are reaching the bottom or not, but different CPC molds definitely have different fits.

(I have Trademark racks bought through Amazon.)

Maybe I missed it, but has anyone measured the inside dimension on these?

If you're talking about measuring for the chip diameter they fit, it's very hard to measure. The tube is not a full half-circle, it's less, so you're trying to measure a radius without being able to measure the diameter. (The width across the top is technically a chord, not a diameter, because the centers of the chips sit just above the rack.)

If you're talking about measuring for the chip stack height they fit, ignore me.

I'll check with Boardwalks a bit later. Here is a barrel of CPC A-molds. There is a tiny bit of space between the chips but it's pretty close to flush with the barrel. It's more noticeable with 1 chip alone, trying to scrape/drag the chip across the bottom of the barrel it's clear that it's not touching flush. Also I can't fit 20 full chips, only a little more than half of the 20th chip will fit in the rack.

We need a control. Show a mint Paulson too. :)

I only have 11 of the 39mm Boardwalks so I can't check whether or not they will fit a barrel in terms of thickness. I added 8 CPC chips and a 9th could not be squeezed in, but it's pretty close.

Here is the spacing with the bottom of the barrel. They appear to touch, and if not then it's extremely close.

My 43mm Boardwalks are actually identical in height to the 39mm chips, so if you have 9 of those, you can still get a stack check.

I only have 8, so 19 total (original sample set from the first GB.) Here's the full sample with a Chipco added. Then a barrel of (lightly used) Chipcos just for completion's sake. Both fit almost perfectly in terms of thickness.

My CPC A molds fit perfectly in 67.7mm racks, as these like the Paulson racks are 66.7 there is no way they would fit without considerable wear.

Agreed, I actually had never thought to even try CPC chips in this particular rack/other 66.7 racks as I knew that others mentioned they would not fit.

Now that I've tried this, I do have non-Paulson/Unique 66.7 racks where CPC chips definitely do not sit as close to the bottom of the barrel despite being advertised as the same diameter as these racks.

I still wouldn't recommend these for ASM/CPC chips, but there may be a little variance in any rack based on the manufacturer even if they claim to have the same diameter.

Is there another person with an email besides kathy@unique-enterprises.com?

I tried emailing but still haven't heard back so I was gonna try another contact. Def interested in buying some of the Paulson racks
