New Paulson Chip Rack Supplier (2 Viewers)

No tax, but was charged a shipping fee of $31.90 UPS ground for a 10lb box.

How many racks do you get. Just trying to figure out the total cost per rack.

30@ $3.50 for a total of $105 + $31.90 shipping = $136.90...so $4.56 a piece. Beats the risk of borrowing them from a casino or paying a premium for a used Paulson branded rack.

Mine came today. So much nicer than "china" racks.

@Tommy, I got 20 and my shipping was $23. Not bad I guess.

They haven't charged my credit card, given me a final price or an expected delivery date. It's an unconventional purchase...but I'm really happy I did it.

Yeah this really should be stickered. Tons of interest and forever relevant to all of us.

Thanks @duffman for all the research.

Thanks for the info, Just talked to Kathy and I'm going to go pick up some today.
This is interesting to me - the picking up part, at least. Good to know that it's an option. I'm out there usually about 4 times a year, so if I ever need any racks it's good to know that they're only a few months away.

Looks like I was a good boy, Santa obliged my request!

Here's a side by side using the Horseshoe $25s, some of the more worn chips I have. On the left is a Key West rack, on the right is the unique. The Key West will take a 21st chip easily. The Unique looks like it might but it will not:

You can also tell by sight and feel that the Unique rack is thicker all around. It's obviously designed to stand up to casino use and abuse. As far as mint Paulsons go the Uniques are tight but a full barrel will fit without issue.

My basic racking arrangement is now as follows:
Mint Paulsons: [secondaries, HS CLE tri-moons, 80% of HS CLE $500s] Key West - Unique works fine but I now have a surplus of Key West racks. Mint Paulsons fit firmly in Key West racks with minimal play. I'd rather save the Uniques for worn chips.
Standard Paulsons: Unique
CPC/ASM: Key West

That leaves me with a ton of Key West racks and five Uniques for future expansion.

Thanks again @duffman for running this one down and bringing it to our attention! I've made a note to self that next time I'm in Vegas I should pick up a second bag flies free suitcase full of them given the UPS charges, even if I have to pay the NV sales tax.

@DJ Mack If you decide to get rid of a few of these let me know, please. Thx.
Will do. I'm probably going to keep these for now. As soon as I get rid of them I'll discover a use and regret not having them. To be honest racks are a pain to ship and there's no cost effective way of doing it, especially for us consumers stuck with flat rate Priority Mail boxes. If you want some Key West racks you're probably best off just buying them from Dennis.

My buddy @FloppinNutz had the balls to initially 'borrow' a few of these racks from our local establishment, so I can't take all the credit. Just glad I could bring them to light to this fine community.

Using a cheap Harbor Freight digital caliper I got 66.65mm for the inside length of each barrel. Close enough to 66.7mm.

@duffman, Is the minimum to order EXACTLY 10? I only need 4 for the Boardwalk 39mm chips, unless CPC chips fit snug in them as well.

Most CPC chips will not fit in either these Unique's or Paulson racks. Most mint-out-of-the-box Paulson THC chips won't fit either, until they have seen a play session or two (same for new Paulson racks as well, go figure). The Boardwalk chips are also just a tad too tight, but they do perfectly in PGI branded casino racks, and have just a little bit of play in PGI Chipco racks.

Dimensionally, smallest to largest:

Unique and Paul-Son racks (66.7mm)
PGI branded casino racks (66.9mm)
PGI Chipco branded racks (67mm or so)
CPC racks (67.7mm)
cheap Chinese racks (68mm-70mm)

Mint Paulson chips (and most ceramics) are roughly 3.3mm thick, making a barrel of perfectly flat chips = 66mm. Almost none are perfectly flat.

Great Info. I have an H-mold set of ASM chips that will not only not fit (20) in these racks, but also not bottom out in them as well.

Hey I think I'm going to go ahead and order 30 of these Unique racks. For those of you who have bought them, have there been any isssues? Chips on the end of all the barrels all sit flush right?

No issues. My Cleveland secondaries fit almost perfect. Nice quality rack.

Excellent just wanted to double check with everyone since you've had a while to use them. (y)

I am in the "borrow" from my local cardroom camp, but after seeing how nice and inexpensive these racks are, I guess I'll quit my reign of theft. Plus nice new racks would look much better in the berd cage.

For any newbies discovering this thread late, like I did, here's my $0.02:
  • Kathy was a pleasure to speak with. Very happy to accommodate my order.

  • Shipping costs to the NYC Metro area was a little over $27 dollars. Everything was packed up nicely.

  • I have a few of the Paul-son 24010 racks and I'd agree with the other posters that they are nearly identical. Since all my old racks were casino-used, having some nice and clean racks is definitely an upgrade.

  • My primary Horseshoe Cleveland's don't exactly fit so snug in the racks. I'm a bit picky, so I don't like having 21 chips in each stack. That being said, a Spinetti spacer won't work either as it seems to be too tight. Perhaps I need to find a vendor with some thinner spacers!

Oh yeah, that might have helped provide some context! Slipped my mind.

Twelve racks.

I ordered 20 racks a few weeks back for my paulsons. I love these. New paulsons fit SO snug. So I ordered 20 more and am going to try their 600 chip acrylic carrier too while I'm paying for shipping this time.

Didn't realize they sell carriers too. How did you find out they sell them? Love to see some pics when you get it.
