new idea: High Noon Saloon (1 Viewer)

Alright, we can do that. I think we have the basic concepts, as soon as we have a timeline on the Midnight Casino chips, I think we can start getting into the nitty gritty on this. I can go back to the wood-ster, as he did a star-studded job on the Midnight Casino or we can look at another artist =)

I haven't forgotten about everyone, matter of fact, I think I know who to call for this set, i just have to get off my lazy ass and actually do it.

I'm going to test the field and see who among the better artists here wants it the most. :) I may give Johnny first crack at it or go back to Woody. :)

UPDATE: I went ahead and submitted an email to Johnny5 to see if he wants it. He gets first crack since I felt it was fair and I honestly didn't even ask him when I did Midnight Casino.

I have heard back from Johnny, he is going to look at it. He wants me to email him directly and I will do so probably tomorrow.

I cannot guarantee anything, as I know he has a lot of orders. This is not going to be a one month or so turnaround like Midnight Casino was.

I love old west and speakeasy ideas

Other location suggestions:
Pecos, Texas
Langtry, Texas which was founded by Judge Roy Bean. Judge Bean also built and owned the Jersey Lilly saloon in Langtry.
Muleshoe, Texas is in the panhandle between Lubbock and Clovis, NM
Presidio, Texas on the western side of the Big Bend (of the Rio Grande, southeast of El Paso)
Sierra Blanca, Texas (also southeast of El Paso, but closer to El Paso)
Who can forget Laredo, Texas? It was founded in 1755, is the third largest city on the Mexican border, and was briefly capital of the Republic of the Rio Grande.

Some great feedback from the @timinater -- he thinks a faux clay look would be better than Sun-fly's but he could work with both, maybe CPC would be the right way to go with this. I don't know. we're just in the concepts right now.

his asking price isn't too bad. he wants a going rate plus 1 cent per chip. I don't care about the rate, tbh, it's reasonable enough, but I want everyone who buys to know 1 cent will be added to all value chips as it has been requested by the artist.

His ideas are sorta in line with the Midnight Casino, and he REALLY sounds like he wants to work on it.

I never even thought about Laredo, that might actually work wonders.

I like yunma becuase one of my favorite western 3:10 to Yuma

Oh coure you could also do Tombstone, Az or Dodge City, KS

Like I said, this is just in the concept stage but the ideas that he's putting forth will make everyone who liked the Midnight Casino like this design as well.

Any examples of clay look? I wouldn't think this would look so nice as it's trying to be something it's not
Yeah I have the exact sam concern. I know @timinater is an amazing artist so maybe he can show us what he meant, but in my mind I just don't see that looking right. But, I would be more than happy to be wrong on this :)

Aligned edge spots are essential in these examples, and that's a pretty penny. The mockups that have the faux recessed art around the border might be weird. Like, if there's a H&C, but I can't feel it, I might get sad.

Open to anything though. I just happen to love the SunFly hybrids.

Definitely like the style now that I've seen it! I didn't even realize that that was faux clay style, but I love the way it looks. Like @BearMetal said aligned edge spots are a must if we go this route, but imho it looks 100x better with aligned edge spots even without the faux clay. Defiantly would be good with SunFly's though got a sample and LOVED them!

I believe the previous GB had aligned edges. As for the recessed art, swipe over and you’ll see it’s just a mockup of the mold imprint of that particular blank.

Sun-fly is super nice about aligned edges with a minimum order of 3000 chips (i.e. they don't charge for them)

Yeah, I'd hope a previous GB would have the aligned spots. Good to know!

So I know I came across a faux clay dye sub jobs couple months ago. It looked fine, but something was off. It just didn't feel right to have a little H&C that wasn't a mold. I thought to myself, "OK, let's say I can adjust to how it looks. I don't think I'd get used to the feel". Just my 2 cents.

Prove me wrong folks. Prove me wrong.

sunfly has chips with an actual mold, an actual impression in the chip not just a printed image

I've seen that cards pattern on the left before; thought it was a cheap knockoff. Maybe it was legit. Good to know they can do molds. I assume you still get full coloring to the edge? Not that I think this series needs a mold; it should be driven primarily by the artwork.

yes the big group buy was cards mold

here is an example someone has done in that group buy, card mold with faux clay edge spot pattern

Lower left of the $1k and $5k. Around 6:30pm if it was a clock. What's that white spec? Could be a problem trying to do faux clay?
