new idea: High Noon Saloon (1 Viewer)

How am I just now seeing this!!! Anything Texas will be hard for me to resist.

Also, has anyone else thought this idea might go well with the custom mold that @BGinGA is working on?

@wolfpack care to share your "star" mold idea. Works perfectly with the old west and Texas.

I wonder if people would mind that. I see no record of snapper chips prior to 1964, and this set is supposed to look like a late 19th century set. (I should say the casino in question was created in 1964, getting exact years for poker chip denominations is proving tough)

I think what I will do is the same thing I did with the orchid 500's and 5k's on Midnight Casino. Have it as an option if it sells at least 200 chips total.
This. Design the set with options. Same with .05 and .25, and the $20 or $25. Design them all and let the buyer pick the ones they want.

Regarding cities, I'd love to see San Antonio de Bexar. Sounds really cool, and of course it's an awesome city with a ton of history for inspiration.

I don;t know not my chips just saw them in the group buy thread they may be samples without the edge printed. @SeanGecko may know.

here are some other examples

The idea of Midnight Casino was a modern feel. Everything from the location which was practically a ghost town until the housing price explosion in L.A. and O.C. in the '80s to the ceramic hybrid design was very young and fun. I wanted a set (and it worked) that would "make a 20 year old look at it and say 'I gotta get me one of these'.".

My music friend Jacqui openly said she wanted one and I impressed the young lady at the post office with one, the ultimate test will be tomorrow when I go to the Kilt and give my last 4 chips away.

This is basically a sister set, it will be made to pay homage to the past, so I think every idea here is great.

I can honestly say the feedback has been to use $20 chips instead of $25, and that makes tons of sense. The $25 chip sounds more like it came from the glitzy '50s.

@timinater just sent me a first draft. I have already told him that the green chips should be $20 instead of $25, and that nickel, quarter and snapper chips are to be added.

I wasn't going to keep a $500 chip, tbh, but that color really pops, so I like it..

Other than that, I open the floor to the board members.

Just my two cents, but the rustic color on the one isn’t really matched in the other chips. The green is pretty good. But the yellow and purple are too bright IMO. And I would like to see the black as more charcoal.

Agreed; the $1 looks sepia toned/faded almost which is a great look. The other chips should follow that.

Alright, now with fracs and a few more muted colors.

Is it just me or do you think the quarter should be like a dark blue?

I'll open the door for comments for the next 2 days.

Yes! Too many chips with brown tones. And lots of brown in the inlay. Get rid of the brown quarter for blue.

I’ve recentlu thought about making a hot stamp cash set for the “Oriental Saloon” Tombstone, AZ

Was an actual hot gambling spot back in the day.

Agree with the above, either blue frac or blue $1. Not a fan of the brown frac, personally.

I like the theme!
