Do you prefer KEM or Copag? I’ve used both and I feel like the Copag hold up better. Thoughts?

I prefer KEMs, most North American casinos use KEM so it gives you that "casino" feeling if you get what I mean. But recently a lot have switched to faded spade, they are pretty good too, but overall I'd take KEM over Copag

All MGM Resorts poker rooms tried to switch from KEM to Faded Spade in January. The players/dealers complained and now they are back on KEM.

I learned how to deal using a deck of WSOP Copag cards (I think 2017/2018). I believe they are more durable to repeated abuse, but the KEM cards just slip, slide, and feel better. I think how new the deck is matters. A new Copag deck will feel nicer than an older KEM deck that has been played with.

Kem cards are an absolute joy to handle.
Copags are fine.
Since a setup of copags is practically half the price of a setup of Kems, and since my cards tend to get mashed by my players, it's far more likely that I'll be buying more copags.
But there's no comparison. Kems are perfect. Copags are fine.

I bought @desjgn and am very happy with them. There were lots of good reviews of them on this site which led me to get them as my first real deck. Couldnt be happier. I had used Copag before at my neighborhood game, and the Desjgn cards are much better. I always felt like I was herding cats when using the Copags. they just kept drifting anytime to set them down.

I’ll check them out!

For the record, Angel all the way =)

Copags are garbage. After a mere 7 months of light usage I couldn't stand to look at them anymore and tossed them. My WSOP 2011 KEMs are much nicer.

This is what I’ve seen out of every Copag deck I’ve ever played with. I’m shocked others have said Copag has been more durable.
KEM is my experience warps in less than an hour. Copag last more than one hour, which makes it more durable

Durable in terms of its form/shape. They never warp, always stay flat. Keys warp way too easily. My Fourniers warp after some time. But my 2020 WSOP free deck I got from Copag during a sale I shuffle a lot and self deal for the heck of it a lot of the time. Still hasn't faded yet but I've had it happen before and is the only real gripe I have with them.

Maybe it's when people press them together hard after shuffling and straiten the deck like I see people do. I just stand them straight after shuffling where they natural fall together and lightly straighten the deck so they don't rub together too hard. They helps the fast fading problem from my experimental handling.

Maybe, but why should I have to "baby sit" playing cards when there are much better options. If they won't stand up to the stress of normal shuffling then why bother. Old fashioned Bee/Bicycle paper cards hold up much better then Copags wrt fading.

It's not babysitting, just simple handling. Never understood why people had to press the cards down so hard on each other when they straighten the deck after shuffling. Always noticed that in home games.

I much rather cards that are durable even if faded as long as they're still legible than having warped, dented, bent, &/or deformed cards regardless of material. I get tilted when I have to try replacing a card if I notice one with a deformity, or replacing the whole deck from just one card. Not aware if the other manufacturers besides Copag when it comes to replacing cards though and if/what they charge.

I haven’t heard of Fournier. I’ll check them out!
Huge Fournier fan here! A little tricky to get here in the States, but I love the 2826's for jumbo index bridge and the 2012 WSOP Bicycle branded cards you can find for a steal on eBay periodically for standard index. (at least I understand these are made by Fournier... apologies if I'm incorrect).
