Anyone know where to get some of this in black quickly? Do any local fabric department store types of places usually carry it?

YAT has a unisuede alternative. Never tried it.

Thanks guys. Saw that stuff, but black has been out of stock for a while.
I have a black Texuede rail for my Chanman topper made ages ago. It's wonderful!

Can try Jo Ann’s fabrics If there is one close Y. They have a few polyester suedes, including black, at the store near me. Prime playing cloth potential if that’s where you are headed.

The stuff I used was marked as suede in the store, but the catalog # pulls up Hudson 43 Velvet.
Not sure of the difference between velvet and faux suede, but I was very happy with the result.

The Hudson velvet is the product I was thinking of. Not a rail suede, but a nice playing surface. They had black, navy, steel blue and a dark red in my store a while back.
