I gave up in 2007 when I had 1 set of chipco, bud Jones, and paulson (thc). Then I found PCF and got sucked back in. I then decided I needed trk set, and maybe a lg key set (with plaques), and a couple casino sets, and a tournament set, and a limit set, and I need to make a custom label set, of course.
Yeah, I should have stayed away.

Ohh Kevin... everyone "thinks" they hit that point omewhere in their chipping journey. Then something amazing gets made new and offered at a super resonable price... you know $14.99 as opposed to $15 a chip. Or some other super rare chips get unearthed from some old dudes basement that have been hiding for 40 plus years that are absolutely mind blowing!

But I hope you have trully found peace brother! Even if you happen to fall into remission from time to time. I think the biggest test here is next year at this time we revisit and reflect on where you are. A year seems like a decent test of time.

With the way prices in our hobby have skyrocketed it is not just you that has claimed this... others excuse of cost it seems have been forced into retirement which also sucks. (For the record I went for a 15 minute hike inside of Kevin's house last weekend completely naked with 30 people there completely unnoticed... and that was because I was just in his mater bathroom! Just saying he's doing just fine. Lmao and kidding of course!)

Many I think are hoping things reset in time so they can come back to it... but with this recent sale, it just doesn't seem like it's even close to any type of reset!

The good thing is you have so many ama,ing racks that you have nearly endless trade bait if you ever just "need a fix of new chips!"

Your passion and dedication to the hobby is obvious, your generosity towards other chippers is absolutely amazing! I am honored and lucky I get to call you "brother Kev!" Congratulations on the mile marker sir, know that it is not set in stone... it can be moved further along as you journey continues... but I totally get it man l, what else could you want when you already own the best chips?

ACES brothers for life! Lol

That does NOT mean I plan to sell, so please don't PM me. It just means my purchasing days are over, which sounds sad when I say it out loud, but damn my bank account is going to love me...LOL!!

There I said it, so it's official....I think. :)
I got so excited about getting your Samurai and then I read this.

I know the feeling completely and at times it makes me a little sad. I went back and forth about getting in on the IG chip room sale. I told myself I don’t want them. But I found myself logging in at 2:05 but by then all the $5’s and $100’s were already sold. So I figure I wasn’t meant to have a set. So unless another Chiproom sale comes along with great chips I don’t see any more chips being added to my collection.

Of course you could start hosting every week and realize you’d like another set or 2 in the rotation…..

Yes, that was my feeling exactly. We had the Memorial Week Alpha Shootout meetup where everybody was discussing the iG sale. I really wasn't interested no matter how many times I looked at the sample sets.

I made it to the point where I thought my collection was just a grotesque (hoarder) menagerie. Why have to many chips?
I sold off lots (many that I now regret). Although I did keep what I wanted to for my personal taste.

Once the lion has his (her) fill (of chips) there is no telling how long he will sleep it off.
No matter how many tasty chips (sheep) are prancing around his head (as he lays in topor) the lion does not notice.
Then the Lion wakes up, and he sees how tasty they have evolved.
The lion regrets not staying awake; then the saliva flows...

@Seeking Alpha Social Club congrats! I wonder…is having peace/reaching nirvana a better feeling than hunting/acquiring the next amazing rack or set?
No, definitely not. I wouldn't call it reaching Nirvana. It's kind of like that super hot girfriend you had right out of High School. Dumber than shit, but you still spent a shit ton of money on her because fondling her made you smile ear to ear and made you tingle in areas you didn't know existed. Over time, the luster wore off, you quit spending money on her and she quit showing up. The big brain is thinking, "AWESOME, saved a few thousand this month!!" But the little brain misses her, but still knows that when she shows up, she just doesn't bring you to climax like she used to.

Kind of like that. :ROFLMAO:

Sounds like a few roads I’ve traveled down before.  :ROFLMAO:
