How much to punt while hosting? (1 Viewer)

There's a reason it's called "no-limit" holdem. :ROFLMAO: Give us action and you'll have plenty of use for nice chippies!

So hey when are back in town again? (Asking for a friend)

You can punt to me all that you want. I'm sure I can find a way to give it all back and more within the same session, especially if I mine ideas from the alcohol and weed thread. With the clothes thread, though, everybody would be paying me to leave.

If I've torched my guests several times in a row, I will play looser (and/or) imbibe more to even it out. Truthfully though, I don't play fundamentally sound poker when I'm just playing for kicks with my buddies at .25/.50. They limp like crazy, so I limp like crazy. Its about having fun and fraternizing at the end of the day. If I want to play for real, I drive my ass to the casino.

lol. Poker is one of those games where just when you think you have it all figured out, it comes around to remind you that isn’t the case. No need to soft play, variance will do its part.

I usually only punt (and can only afford) my first 2 buyins.

I like everyone to have a great time when I hosting and I don’t mind OOL sometime and calling an ALL IN light with example a 89suited or a pocket 4

I mean, it depends on what you consider a buy-in.

If you mean the initial buy-in amount, that could be one number. If you are then accounting for the "half of the big stack", that number goes up. Some games let you match the stack.

I limit myself to the amount of 5 initial buy-ins. That could be 2 buy-ins, or 5... or anywhere in between. This weekend, that number was 3.

I hosted Friday night. On hand #2 I was already re buying. 90 minutes later I added on to get to half the deep stack. I didn't win my first hand for four hours! The last couple of hours my hands started holding up. In for $300, our for $450. I was totally prepared to use all five of my buy ins!!!

I was generally the same way on Saturday. Punted with 2nd nut flush and nothing on a double board PLO bomb pot, ran into nut/nut. Down to $40 from $200 of the 2nd buy-in, when it was raise to $20 pre. Peeled one card, saw a red Ace, and jammed. Got called. Q high flop, turn, x, River A. He shows QQ. I turn over my red A, and slow-rolled the second card .... black A. HOLY SHEEEEET. That was the 1st hand I won after playing for hours. Lost it later, and rebought for another 2. repotted a flop with AA104dd to 53, and shoved blind on the flop. flop was 10 5 4. river 4 to beat @Chippy McChiperson 54xx. that got me to down 200. won a five way $20 flip, and with some bounty donations from tournament players, finished up $10 for the night (in for $620, out for $630). I'll take it !!
