The oil is barely dry on my first custom set, and I'm already thinking about the next one.

I want to do a micro cash set with an old west motif. Denominations of .05, .25, 1, 5, and 20. For the inlay I'm debating between just a simple denomination, or a saloon name.

Here is what I've come up with so far...

you need a wanted poster chip .....maybe in place of the banker (every western has a bad guy) (y)

..to have yellow/canary free for the pergament-ish wanted poster then?

It shouldn't be a problem. A tournament bounty chip and a 5 cent chip will never be on the table together.

I was thinking about changing the quarter from green to grey. The banker really isn't an iconic figure of the old west, and I would really be looking for something else if I go the themed route..

I am now thinking Merchant, Miner, or Gambler for the green chip.

Needs some barbed wire or something around the text circle between the words. Still working on how to do that.

I really like the look of the silver ring, but be forewarned that the inlay cutting process will draw attention to inconsistencies in the cut. For my MD-50 Signal set, it's a look that I was intentionally trying to replicate due to the 1940s-1950s era I was trying to replicate. It all depends on the style you're going for. That inlay looks very modern and clean, so you may not want to juxtapose those two design elements.

I'd say about 65% of my chips look like the one of the left. The remainder look like the two on the right.

... It all depends on the style you're going for....

I would like something that would not be too out of the place in the pre-civil war west. I realize that edges pots and inlays violate that rule, but I would like to get as close as I can to the spirit of the time.

For textures, I am limiting options to parchment, leather, wood, and burlap.

For eagles (if I go that route) I'm selecting styles based on coinage of the period.
