Hello everyone. I've been browsing the forum like a madman over the last 2 months or so. My name's Justin and I'm 36 from Ft. Worth Texas.
The reason I got onto this forum is simple. I've been playing Texas Hold'em for about 11 years now. I was really into it up until about 2013-2014. I actually made a living off poker from 2009-2011 full time. I would go to Shreveport to play at the casino's, I would play online, found cash games in my area and the most fun was home poker games with 6-8 good friends on a weekly basis. We would play home games at least once a week usually 2-3 times per week always at least 6 at the table usually 7-10. So what brings me here? Well I fell off poker after having my first boy. Back when I was playing home games on the regular I got really into poker chips. I started out with a dice set like everyone. After awhile I grew bored of them. I then purchased a better set of chips. They were some classic ceramic poker chips. Really liked them at first but in the end I just prefer clay. So I started researching and found Paulson chips. I ended up buying a 750 set of the classic Paulson chips. Everyone loved them. Best chips I ever had by far. I didn't realize how lucky I was at the time. In 2012 someone broke into my house and the chips were 1 of the items stolen. Very depressing. After that I just purchased a 750 set of Nexgen pro's and honestly for the money they were fantstic.
Anyhow, I fell off poker completely as I said. About 2 months ago a bunch of the old friends came into town and we ended up having a poker game. I fell right back in love with it. Now I'm on the hunt for a nice set and plan to host weekly poker games again. SO that's the reason I'm here. I was sad to see Paulson chips are no longer for sale to the commercial market. That's ok. Classic poker chips looks to be what I'm after. Going to have a custom set made just trying to figure out what. Right now leaning rounders with the new scrown mold.
