Has anyone played there? What's the competition like? Being in NC, the options of expanding my horizons is limited aside from bouncing around different home games. Cherokee offers me that expansion, just not sure what to expect. I know they host some WSOP Circuit Events, but what are their daily/weekly tournaments like. Anyone know?

I've been there several times and am impressed with the place in general. But I only played blackjack.

Been there many times. The cash competition is soft soft soft. If you play $1/$2 there are some amazing calling stations. $2/$5 is still light competition for the stakes. I've never played in their regular tournaments (only been up for the WSOP tournament wise)

My wife and I were thinking of taking a trip up there soon, and I've heard it is absolutely gorgeous, but if the competition is soft then I don't know how much time I'll spend on the felt. Might just play a little Black Jack and maybe hit the tables up for a few hours.

My company built the hotel Tower and rebuilt the entire casino. So thank you very much! It is a pretty amazing place in the middle of no where. It is my account as I'm the sales manager. (The company that I've worked for for 21 years, not my personal company)

I wish. Very political up there right now. New chief. The hotel tower is full 97%+ of the time with their highest rollers. They need another tower, but the local tribe members who own mom and pop motels don't want to be put out of business.

Not surprising. Very unfortunate because that is the only casino in NC, and it's within driving distance for me.

I need to give the poker tables a try. Only time I went when I was trout fishing many years ago. They had 100 yards of slots and no dealers, no poker and not a single slot machine open.

I got pretty pissed after waiting 45 mins for a slot machine to open up, [thought] I found one and right as I was going to play OMC walked up and started yelling at me. He walked away with credits remaining that I didn't notice and thought I was trying to steal his credits. He couldn't answer why he walked away and I was just short of telling him to F off, but I just let it go. Never wanted to go back, but after adding poker I'll probably give it a shot.

If you havent checked it out in years, it has really changed. Plus they have live dealers now.

I love free money, but I'm also trying to improve my game. I can win money around here playing the same old competition. Want to see new techniques and different play.
