Been out of touch with chipping for a while due to some big life changes.
I am going to revive this idea and get to work.

I saw this chip inlay and wanted to draw inspiration

Drew these up at work, just playing around with inlay ideas.

Once I get a good idea for layout I’ll employ the services of a professional designer.

As for colors, so far I’m working with these. It’s going to have to be used/played chips as that’s all I got, and I’m not in the position to really start acquiring minty chips in the colors I want.

Quantities are
Purple 200
Hot pink 200
Green (day? Mint? Sherbet?) 130
Day blue 200
Yellow 200
Royal red 90

Not sure yet which colors I am going to use for each denom. It will be a tourney set, maybe T100 or T500 base.

Would love to hear thoughts/ideas about these things if you’ve got ‘em!

Scratched the idea of using only chips I currently own.

Now I’m thinking T100 base with the 4 main denoms (T100 T500 T1k T5k) representing the 4 elements in the movie. Earth (brown) air (white) fire (red/orange) water (blue)

At first I was thinking royal red for fire but @joeyshin mentioned blaze and now I can’t Un-think it.

I thinking Ocean Blue would be most appropriate for Water but I don’t think I’ve seen ocean blue solids come up for sale ever. Please let me know if I’m wrong.

Here’s some other colors too

IMG_9541.jpeg

I do think red is more archetypal for fire, but blaze is just such an insane color. You guys think blaze works for fire? I feel like each color needs to work perfectly for each element, or else the whole idea becomes weak. Blaze would be perfect for T25k Lilu chip, with some type of red for fire. The set itself won’t pop as much though.

Now, for the ‘fifth element’, T25k chip.
In the movie, the fifth element is referred to as Lilu, a Supreme/perfect Being, set to be the final element in the ultimate weapon against impending doom/evil. However, the fifth element is also interpreted as love.
I thought blaze would be perfect for this denom, as Lulu has fluorescent orange hair. But with blaze in the other denoms, a color representing love would have to be used.

Not sure how I feel about the radiant or hot pink mingling with blaze. Not enough contrast in my opinion.

Anyway, just documenting the thoughts/process I guess. Thanks for listening!

Great thought process. I agree that blaze would be perfect for a T25k Lilu, and also agree with the challenge of finding the right color for fire. What about in the family of yellow or red (depending on the inlay)? Or what about black with orange inlay? Just spitballing here

Update: chips acquired

Fire - Royal red x 240
Air - White x 200
Earth - Russet x 260
Water - Royal blue x 200
Fifth element/Leeloo - Blaze x 20

Now to choose which denom for each color. Blaze will have to be the fifth element/color, T25k Leeloo chip.

I wanted a little separation between blaze and red for the most contrast. T100’s will be colored up after 4 levels, so I can eliminate them there. Then again, there is a very high chance the T25k blaze chips will never even see play anyway.
