Fake Paulson WSOP ceramics (1 Viewer)

This is different, it has the exact name and logo of a brand on it. It's also made completely differently than the original thing. You really don't get the point, do you?
I get that stealing is stealing. You evidently don’t.
I sent them a Matsui rack and told them to duplicate it.
This guy sent them a Paulson chip and said duplicate it. What’s the difference?

Don't like it. Either have an actual mold like the card and diamond mold ceramics, or no mold at all. Faux printed mold is cheesy.

Look, I just think that plastic boxes are plastic boxes. If it had any real proprietary technology or design then it would be stealing. It doesn't. You're making a mountain out of a molehill. Would you like me to ask Matsui themselves whether or not it's stealing? I can send Roxana an email.

Sure, actual knowledge usually clears things up. Ask Matsui for a copy of their design specs on that too. It’s not proprietary so I’m sure they’d be happy to provide you with information.

We need a professional on the case.

Why some vendor make copy of Duned and pharaoh’s perfectly no problem??????
I agree he don’t need copy the brand
That’s stupid
I disagree with the fake WSOP ceramics. Those are live chips that are trademarked. Big no-no.
For the Pharaohs, they were approved and designed in conjunction with the original owner of the design. For the Dunes, I believe the trademark expired, and it says commemorative on the label, but that might not be it.

live chips? You going to cash these in somewhere?

Holy shit. What did I start here? Lol.
Well, I did ask your thoughts haha.

To be fair I never paid attention to much of the China chip threads, or the different WSOP iterations. So I feel I've brought up old debates that already happened.

I have recently started paying attention to the SunFly chips though. Lots of great sets coming out on those recently.

As you were. Debate away. :ROFLMAO:

Never one to avoid controversial issues, so I'll add an opinion. :)

Chip racks are designed and produced, and thus I suspect (but do not know for certainty) that they are somehow 'protected'. @pltrgyst ?

One can certainly produce new chip racks that are similar to other existing racks.... merely look at all of the various types out there already. Different overall-lengths, widths, wall thicknesses, barrel widths, arc diameters, stacking/stability aids, etc. I doubt that one can exactly clone an existing chip rack without violating *something*, but making it 'different' in some way certainly seems to be acceptable.

Where do the Apache racks fall? No clue, but they are clearly not identical to the Matsui racks.

There are super common especially in the UK. One of the only ceramic sets you can buy without importing it.

Just got this email:
Hi Greg,

Good evening!

It’s not an item that’s controlled by any means, we’re more concerned with our chips/plaques being replicated.

Thank you,

Roxana

I can’t believe the gall of all the people in the world who STOLE the design of the cardboard box. I mean, C’mon!

it’s a fricking chip rack for gods sake, and these matsui ones aren’t even used in casinos, I think they are used for production and initial shipping and PCF collectors seem to like them because they look good and keep the dust off of unused chippies.

in regards to these flunky WSOP ceramics... meh, I don’t think anyone really cares about these chips, anyone who does care ... doesn’t want the chips. Whoever made them is pretty much failing, in design and in business.

i would venture to say at this point, somebody has already taken a loss with these chips, they probably had a bunch of meetings, borrowed a bunch of money, telling people how BOoMing the poker chip home market was, and then printed a ton of crappy ceramics and have been storing them in a garage that’s probably got an eviction notice on it by now.

Cardboard box patents for you to peruse. Perhaps you can make some money off of these.

Variants of the cardboard box are some of the most patented ideas

These were also for sale I think by a Uk ‘vendor’. I had a sample set of 2-3 years years ago.

I don't think that's the case... but if it is, who sent them PCF promo chips? LOL  :ROFLMAO:

I think they just copy designs on their own.

First time I've seen the PCM chips. Bet they said we need a 5 letter word to replace Forum with and somebody just picked Mandy. Could have easily been Poker Chip Bread. o_O

Chinese manufacturers will knock off anything and then sell it right back to the same people they stole it from.
