Variants of the cardboard box are some of the most patented ideas

right, patents are available for people who invent something unique and also wish to protect their invention from being produced by others.

if Matsui intended to protect their “invention” of a covered hexagonal chip rack, they would have applied for a patent, and would probably market the product. In doing such they would have protections.

however I would wager that “covered chip rack,” was a patented invention as old or older than the 70- year old patents you listed for cardboard boxes... which have no protection anymore. Times expired and it’s open season on everything you listed.

however that’s not the case, they haven’t done that, they are in a different business, the gaming chip production business, not the temporary container for storage and transportation of gaming chips business.

Don’t know about the US but in the UK a patent can only last for 20 years maximum. Initially you get 4 years then have to apply annually to have it renewed.

I don’t know what I’m doing wasting time posting on here when I could be away reinventing the Tamagotchi  :ROFLMAO:

I could not for the life of me find anything even close to these chips ive asked around and seen a real 1k sell for like 250$ on eBay
