Hey,

Has anyone ever seen a faded spade card delaminate? They appear to be two layers of plastic glued together. During a game on the 21st one of the cards partially separated. (I'll try to add pics when I get home)

Has anyone ever come across this with their faded spades? I haven't reached out to them yet, I'm assuming they will replace the card or make it right when they do and keep this post updated.

I have 3 set ups, none have done that. Will be on the look out. Thanks for the tip.

Send it to Faded Spade, I am pretty sure you get your cards replaced. They claim to have great customer service policy. Let's find out if it's true.

Interesting. I couldn’t stand playing with them long enough for that to happen
My crew loves them partially for the reason most don’t, they are on the stiffer side. We’ve only used them a dozen times, if that.

I contacted them through their website last night. We’ll wait and see.

Good to hear the customer service is good.

They're a bit on my shit list now because their V.1's bowed on me after just a couple of uses like some of my Kem's have. I have an unopened set up of the V.2's ready to go for a game, but I have unopened set ups of other cards that I haven't put into play yet that I just like a lot more.

Many cards will bow besides Kem despite what you may hear on forums. Of the cards I have that took a bow besides Kem...there are Dal Negro, Gemaco Superflex, Gemaco 5 star, Cartamundi Acetate, one deck of Cartamundi CCP, and one deck of Desjgn Classic Culture arrived bowed (was immediately replaced by them).

Kem is the most likely to bow but I HIGHLY recommend storing ALL cards upside down with a cut card and dealer button on top. If you handle enough cards you will get a feel for the ones that won’t bow ....all the obvious PVC types like Copag, Bicycle Prestige, Fournier, etc.

In my experience and opinion (with the exception of the ultra stiff Faded Spade) the nicer the cards feels the more likely it is to bow. PVC feels the cheapest to me but is definitely the most bow resistant. I’m fine with the nicer feeling cards and the required storage though. I think it is worth it.

I’ve seen Copag and Fourniers bow, too. Fourniers more so. They tend to bow lengthwise.
Don't you think that even in one company stock of plastic may vary from year to year. I met poor Modiano and good ones. I had Kems that easily chip corners.

There is a lot of factors that can be taken into consideration

Agreed. There can definitely be bad “runs” in production, that produce a poor product. I’ve definitely also met some decks that weren’t up to par, from many different brands. I was just pointing out that while Fourniers and Copags tend to bow less than some of the other brands, they are not “bow proof”.

I know this debate comes up every couple months, whether it’s a thread like this, or a new member asking “what are your favorite cards”. The bottom line is there is no perfect cards. They all have the pluses and minuses, and you mostly have to pick a brand based on the flaws you can live with.

Talking about bad runs of production... Have you ever seen 2007 WSOP edition of Kem, one with 6/9 problem and name error?

Yeah, I have a couple setups. Got them cheap off of eBay back in the day. That was a bad decision by KEM/USPC. Players hated them, and they were pulled within the first day. They’re part of my casino collectibles, and they’ll never see the felt at my games.

So they have good customer's service. Any words of explanation?

Yep it was good. No questions asked really. They didn't mention anything about why it might have happened, so not too sure! We'll wait and see how they hold up.
