Does anyone actually play with Matsuis? (1 Viewer)

Agree on the smaller bevel, looks better although might effect ease of shuffling.

Some closeup pics.

While there certainly are different degrees of bevel on chips Matsui has made, it's unclear why that is. They only offer bevel or non-bevel, and the non-bevel chips don't handle very well. I was going to do customs on the non-bevel ones, until I actually handled a buch of them. Chips with a small bevel would be ideal.

I have a 45mm sample that doesn't have a bevel but it has the big label. Probably good for an oversized tourney set unless that have more spots available, then maybe some oversized $5s and up for a cash set. ;)

Edit: If @Tommy / others are interested in doing something with my glittery dragons project, I'm all for it. Been procrastinating with it for much too long...

Its too early say but if you get those made we can see about combining orders.

What are Matsui's minimum order quantities? Are individual orders feasible?
Also curious about the price range once you have info.
I too would like to know this.

Or would love for a group buy to happen

The Bike (LA casino) that I play at uses matsuis. Personally I like them a lot, the weight/colors/feel are unique but I understand why they are polarizing. They can get kind of stuck to each other which can be annoying when putting out a bet. I would happily use them in my home game. Feel wise I don’t think anything beats a Paulson

My favourite chips in my collection were Matsuis. I guess that is because they are very common in UK casinos.

They are slippery, but they look great. I had some customs made myself, and back on CT they made a range of customs sets that were really cool.

I do tend to play games with less chips though. I have never done the WSOP style castles!

Would a Matsui chip order possibly include a high denomination plaque, or two? :)

Just sent the email. I asked for the following pricing with QTY discounts.

39mm, 43mm, and 45mm, Inner Ring Decal Value Chips (2 and 3 color)
39mm, 43mm, and 45mm, Decal Value Chips (2 and 3 color)

Will let you know when I hear back.

I always assumed they were Bud Jones.

Pricing info...

2 color 39mm chip is $1.15, 3 color $1.21
2 color 43mm chips is $1.27, 3 color $1.33
2 color 45mm chips is $1.50, 3 color $1.56

The cost is the same for both inner ring and decal chips.

That's base pricing or already for a particular MOQ?

No mention of MOQ as far as those prices being discounted already. IIRC they have a 300 chip MOQ per denom.

If you have unique artwork for each chip but can get 1000 orders for a chip, that lowers art fees to 25c a chip, and then with shipping and reshipping a group buy is about $2 a chip delivered, ballpark.

I really like these 45mm chips. I wish I had about 8-12 more to handle.
