Lots of threads complaining about how pretty Matsui chips are but that they are too slick to stack. I have samples but not enough to tell me whether it would be difficult to run a game with stacks.

I've already found plenty of folks weighing in on the negative side and would like to hear from people who are actually using these in games successfully. Anyone?

Thanks!

I've played with @Dwight87's Zens many times. They're nice chips but just a little muted in sound and light in feel. I don't recall them being overly slippery but they definitely are more slippery than clay chips.

It's a tough line to walk with BJ, Matsui, and Gemaco plastics. I have felt some v5 BJs and I actually felt like they are too sticky. I have a feeling that the Matsui will lose a little bit of slickness once they pick up a bit of finger grime.

I'm interested in hearing from someone who owns a set.

Played with a beautiful WSOP set for a while. But yeah, slippery

I just got some samples from Matsui. Been toying around with the idea of getting a set made for a while now. If there is interest in getting some made, let me know and we can work on a design. I can run a GB come Jan.

There are two casinos near me and one uses bud jones, the other matsui. I find the matsui are equally as nice as bud jones in stackability and feel. Although I'm not a huge fan of the plastic as much, they are actually quite nice chips. I don't find one any better than the other in any aspect

Are these matsuis? I’m clueless when it comes to anything non-clay. I did enjoy playing with them a lot more than I expected though.
@Psypher1000 and @liftapint yours should be arriving any day now. My bad, I packed them up for shipment and totally forgot to send them.

I have only handled Matsui samples at @detroitdad house. We both agreed we were underwhelmed with the chips, just felt light and very plastic for lack of a better description. I guess I always expected more for the price that custom Matsui chips command.

Well. there was a Matsui Tournament Poker GB on CT in 2011, in 40 and 43mm, and they're pretty nice chips. I still have my set (of course!) See the February thread here by Felix: "Cleaning out the closet" and the "Gone but not forgotten" thread:

I also have a set of Matsui Rounders CICs that I like. My home game guys liked them fine, too.

It's a matter of individual taste, despite the overall PCF preference for Paulsons and TRKs...

5, 10 and 25 look like Matsui chips, 50 and 100 are not.
Ok thanks.

That’s interesting because I much prefer the 50 and 100s. Granted they have better spots but they feel a bit more substantial too.

What would the per/chip pricing look like?

Color me interested. Since the Radisson $1's sold out I think I'll have to pass on the current TCV offering, but the samples have piqued my interest in owning a set of high quality plastics.

For those who are interested in doing a GB towards the end of the year (payments to be collected in 2019) here is the latest Matsui catalog. Check it out and let me know your thoughts.

If the GB happens, I'd be in for a bunch of non-denominated, 44mm Marbled Gold chips if possible. They would make great (relabeled) card cappers for my Hall of Fame players.

I'm not really into any of the glitter/hologram chips, although I might be convinced if the design is right.

I really dig the 2 and 3 color designs with an inner ring (with denom). Unfortunately an inner ring with the denom is tougher for a group buy, since it would cut down on the flexibility of various sets folks could build within the options available. For example, I think the Radisson chips are awesome looking, very simple and clean design and label.

The funny thing with Matsui chips is they have different bevels in the same line.

For example, a 39mm chip from line A has a style 2 bevel and a 43mm from line A line has a different style bevel. The difference is very noticeable IMO.

I think the chips/edgespots choices with the smallest bevel (sharpest edge) look better. What do you think?
