I say do what I did and ditch the can of Manwich and make your own. It’s simple, much better tasting, and healthier.

And no cheese.
I make most things from scratch. I haven’t bought a jar of spaghetti sauce in probably decades. This isn’t about that. For me anyway, this is about revisiting a childhood favorite. Without pickles!

it's like every McDonald's conversation that has ever happened - no matter how much you caveat it, someone has to point out the obvious. no shit McDonald's is straight poison and i can make a better burger at home, but that wasn't the question!

Put one ounce of pressure on any of those sandwiches and you will require a spoon to eat the contents.

The correct answer is…sloppy Joes are just chili with ketchup. Might as well serve it on spaghetti.

There are no tomato’s in chili. Not in any form.

No cheese and it's not even close. If you add cheese it is no longer a "Sloppy Joe". Just like when you add cheese to a burger it becomes a cheese burger or if you add cheese to a ham sandwich it becomes a ham and cheese sandwich. I've never heard anyone call it a Sloppy Joe and Cheese or a Cheese Sloppy Joe.....

Queso Joe

I'd eat the cheese, not the sloppy Joe

She says it’s exactly like a meatball sub - it pretty much requires cheese. I disagree.

What do the people say?

It is nothing like a meatball sub. The sub has gravy, the Manwich contains BBQ sauce ingredients. Who is this woman? Disassociate immediately!

No cheese.

I will add cheese to a sloppy joe (Grandma's Recipe) but I'm not eating Manwhich.

I haven't had a sloppy joe in years. It might be time to make a batch.

Also, the next day - any leftovers get warmed up and added on top of hotdogs. "Joedogs" is what we called them growing up and man those hit the spot.

I've never tried cheese or pickles on a sloppy Joe. It's but the way I think about them, but I'm not opposed and am willing to try one with those additions at least once.

Yes, cheese. You can also use Cheetos, Doritos, Ruffles, Pringles, or any other cheesy flavored chip instead of cheese. Surprised no one mentioned this yet, we always stuck chips into sandwiches as kids.

Sloppy Joe with Cheese.

There you go, first time for everything! Now you've heard it.
