Two Pair
Want to buy a 1000 chip set for cash and tournament options with tournament starting with 25. Is this the best breakdown i can do? Love anyones opinion. 2 table max 18 players
Agreed. 600 chips for a 2 table tourney is perfect.I would say it is easily possible if you plan for 1 table cash set and 1 table tourney set. You can do a 1table tournament set with less than 400 chips and a 1 table cash set with 600 (and definitely also with less), so 1000 chips total should be able to cover both a cash and tourney set to cover one table each.
However if you plan to run 2 tables of either tourney or cash specifically on some nights, you probably want more than 1000 total. If its only for rare occasions you can probably get by with adding a few hundred chips to the total to meet the minimum requirements for both options.

Yes 1200 is probably the best option but my cash games play pretty small. We play .25/.50 but most people buy in with $20 and $50 max so i could probably get away with less $5’s and if its the same set i already have $25’s from the tournament side. I might just do 1000 and if i ever have 2 tables of either i have bigger sets for just cash and just tournament i just hoped to get it all in 1 with what will be my favorite set. “43mm royals” when they dropNot actually answering your question, but this could be an option:
If you want to be able to cover 2 tables or either cash or tourney, then you could make it fine with 1200 chips total. The cash part of the set is probably better suited for a single table, but can cover a second table if need be.
Obviously when you are 18 players for tourney (or even 20) or 18 players for cash, most your chips will be in play, but thats OK if you value being able to do it once in a while.
On most nights though, when you are one table, or two short tables, you should have plenty of chips.
600 chip, 2 table tourney (up to 20 players):
160 x T25
160 x T100
80 x T500
140 x T1000
60 x T5000
Starting stacks of 8/8/4/7/x
This will cover up to 20 players, which is more than you need probably, but good to have just in case.
That leaves you 600 chips for a cash set.
600 chips is stretching it for 2 tables for a cash set, but if you play 1 table most of the time it will be totally fine and you'll be able to use it for a 2 table game as well if need be.
for a 25/50 cent game I would probably do:
200x 25c
200x $1
160x $5
40x $20
$50+$200+$800+$800 = $1850. Thats 37 buyins of $50.
