This is a dealer button interest thread / suggestion box based on the thread started by @kk405 here. The general idea is to create dealer buttons that have never been made before, or were made years ago. Maybe with an emphasis toward basing them on actual casinos or epic chip sets (with the owner's permission, obviously). I have coined the term "PCFDBGB" to stand for "Poker Chip Forum Dealer Button Group Buy." Unless demand drops off, the plan is to run one of these every three months, hence the "Q2" prefix. The Q1 dealer button group buy can be found here.

THIS THREAD IS TO DETERMINE WHICH DEALER BUTTON DESIGNS WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE Q2PCFDBGB.

I will begin this thread by listing dealer button ideas from the original thread. I have listed the suggested button idea on this list, along with the person who originally made the suggestion, and the person who designed the original artwork (if it exists, and if it is even known). But that does NOT mean that we actually have permission to use any artwork for the DB ideas on this list. That will come later.

If you see your name on this list, and you are serious about getting a dealer button made with this design, I ask that you please do your own research. You will need to locate where the original artwork exists, and try to obtain permission to use this artwork. For example:
  • If you want to reproduce a dealer button that already exists (i.e. you have seen pictures of it), you need to locate either the person who originally ordered the button (preferred) or the person who designed it (or both). Most people are totally willing (even flattered) that you would want to reproduce their button, so getting permission to use their DB artwork is a formality. Once you obtain permission, you can send me a PM so I can update our list of DB possibilities.
  • If you want to produce a dealer button that has never been produced, but is based on a specific chip set, you need to locate either the person who owns the chip set (preferred) or the person who designed it (or both). This is a slightly more difficult approval to obtain. Some people are very protective of their chip set artwork, but others are very willing to give permission to produce accessories (such as dealer buttons), as long as the artwork will not be used for chip labels. Once you obtain permission, you can send me a PM so I can update our list of DB possibilities.
  • If you want to produce a dealer button that has never been produced, but is based on a specific casino, we need to be more careful. I'm not a lawyer, but my guess is that we would NOT be allowed to use artwork for casinos that are still in business, unless the artwork is completely original and not protected by copyright. Likewise, I would guess that we COULD use artwork pulled off the internet for casinos that are no longer in business. Please correct me if I'm wrong on either assumption. In either case, we would need a designer to work on the artwork so that we could produce a dealer button.
APRIL 2021 UPDATE: BR PRO POKER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THEY WILL NO LONGER PRODUCE ITEMS WITH CASINO NAMES / LOGOS IF THE CASINO IS CURRENTLY IN OPERATION. SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH A DESIGNER TO MAKE SUCH A DESIGN.

Please note that I am NOT a graphic designer or graphic artist, and I make no claim to be. Also, please note that I will NOT be doing the research for you. I may be doing my own research, but only if it's an idea that I have come up with personally. I am here to organize our ideas and (eventually) run the group buy.

I recently bought an HSI WSOP Chipco tournament set.

Though it doesn't appear many bought those sets, maybe a somewhat generic WSOP dealer button that can be used with any WSOP related set.

Is there a deadline for submissions?
Currently, the plan is to place one of these orders every 3 months or so, and the first order hasn't been placed yet. So you've got 6-8 weeks to submit artwork if you want it included in the next order.

@Himewad Hey James, I'm sure with a little digging I could find the answer to this, but figured you would know off the top of your head. Has there ever been a button done for Aria Las Vegas? I'm thinking of putting something together to go with a Cards mold tribute set. If so, any idea who did the artwork?

Thanks!

Have seen a couple of different KGB Oreo cookie designs. I'd be interested in ordering if anyone designed one.

The best one ever isn’t on the list. I still regret selling mine. It was the little Caesars button. One side was a beautiful beautiful pizza.
If we can’t get permission to re-make those, can we make a knockoff? For the love of pizza?

I have the original ...

and the more recent version (unrelated to Little Caesar's) ...

But we would need to get permission to make either one.
