Custom artwork group buy. US/CAN CARDS MOLD (10 Viewers)

Are they selling those designs or just using them as an example of what a customer whose looking to get custom chips’ could look like?

Probably just an example. But they have the design files so they could do reruns as they please.

I guess I'd take it as a compliment if some internet stranger liked my design and wanted his/her own set. I'd never know. Ignorance is bliss.

This has actually happened to me. BCC actually let someone else use my inlay design without my permission/knowledge and made a bunch of flame mold chips using it. I remember Mike Endy being quite righteous about image/design rights when I was spearheading PNY frac GB. I guess that only applied in certain situations for him.

Tina wouldn't let me print up the exact ACES chips until I got the go ahead from Bosco. Take that for what it is.

You're absolutely correct. He told Caesars to go pound sand when they sent him a C&D bitching about the GCOP chip designs. I think he made 'em partially in spite.

That's a set that I really wish I had bought back in the day. One of at least a dozen.

Lol, when I was setting up the scrub donkey stuff before they had even ran artwork they offered Bosco's complete designs to me.

They will absolutely sell your designs. That's the only real downside. Unless you have some kind of exclusive contract. I've had several people who bought the STFU/Zip it chips directly from them since we had them made without anyone's permission.

They use them as examples on their site but freely offer them to people to buy. This is just the fastest I've seen them posting people's work. They at least waited till we had the other chips in hand before selling them.

One thing of note though. They will do exclusive contracts with people for chip and mold production and they will not use your mold or design for the term of your contract. I would imagine that would have MOQ requirements though for that exclusivity.

The reason I found this out was because they actually make casino chips for a place in Brazil and they wouldn't let anyone use their mold or design.

They also said if you paid for a mold to be produced that they wouldn't let anyone else use it. So with the right amount of money involved they'll not share or sell your stuff it seems.

I have a little something to add to this thread...

MY CHIPS HAVE BEEN SHIPPED AND TRACKING IS SAYING THAT THEY WILL ARRIVE ON FRIDAY! #SeriouslyFastThreeDayShipping

Imagine that will be more like Monday, however, once import duties have been paid etc.

I'm buzzing!

So here are some modifications and options.

T5 spot is now "butter".
T25 I made the spot black instead of burgundy (berry is not dark enough) and created an alternative version with waterlilly base, orchid and black spotsd
T100 turquoise CC11 does not render well as it blends into the Silver (CC19). So I made the spots Viridian (green-blue) and kept medium brown spots.
T5000 : I created an alternative with Paris Pink instead of Fuschia (to have more contrast with the T25,000 if needed and made the spot as Raspberry Red)
T25000 : forest

Which T25 and which T5000 do you prefer ?
I think I'm close to finalize this design.

Still to do : create the 'plan B' with the gradient.

@BGinGA , FYI

Top-right T25 looks better, and the right lighter T5k does look better when it goes with the T25k, all IMPO.

I also like the waterlilly T25 a lot, also it does not have the same base color of the primary set and it makes the set all together nicer IMHO.
For the T5000, I also prefer the lighter version I think but I'm not sure myself ahah.

Here's also a peak for 'plan b' in case the white outline does not render well. I'll just try to make the denom white but then with a border else, some parts of the denoms won't be visible.

I'm almost there.

Here're the potential issues - especially in low light I think.

T100 with lighter T5000

So there I think the Fuschia is (1) better and (2) closer to the original.

T5000 Fuschia with Forest T25,000

They are too close to my taste. Keep in mind that in the end of the game, only those 2 denom could be in play. I think it's important to have 2 very distinct chips then.

There are then few options :

Use the Waterlilly as base color for the T25,000 :

25000_wl.png

Use the quarter pie version :

25000_v2.png

Use the quarer pie version colors but with 818 spots :

(the nectar peach spots on the rolling edge are correct, not the ones on the chips)

Having played with a set containing these two chip color/spot combos many times, I can assure you that your concerns are unfounded.... especially if you change thw T5000 spots to red and almond (increasing spot contrast with the red, and closer to the original with the almond).

Waterlilly T25, Fuchsia T5000 (see above post).

The T5 butter spot is still way too yellow -- actual color is mustard (and not Heinz yellow mustard), best matched to tan on Sun-Fly's color chart.

Thanks. I'll compile everything. I also prefer the waterlilly T25, especially to not have the same base as the primary set.
I'll create the updated lineup.

So I've integrated everything and here's the final - I hope - design for the WSOP 2007 tribute set.

Primaries

WSOP_2007_Primary_All.png

Secondaries with exact color match
WSOP_2007_Secondary_All.png

Secondaries with darker inlay (25% darker than base color)
WSOP_2007_Secondary_All_Dark_Inlay.png

Secondaries with gradient from chip base color in case the white outline does not print well (= 'plan b')
WSOP_2007_Secondary_All_Gradient_Inlay.png

Secondaries with gradient from chip base color 25% darker, still in case the white outline does not print well (= 'plan b bis' :) )
WSOP_2007_Secondary_All_Dark_Gradient_Inlay.png

Secondary T100,000 - for the "high-roller" players like @albatros63
Note that this chip is not from the same series (2007), but from 2012. So I put it separately.
WSOP_2012_Secondary_100000.png

Dealer button (60mm) and bounty (43mm)

WSOP_2007_Dealer.png

That's all folks !
I spent quite some time in this design I now consider completed. I was really torn for the T25 sec and decided Waterlilly because May Green was already use for the base T25 prim and spot on the T1000 sec. It'd have been too much May Green in this set.
As said, it's free to use for anyone interested in ordering a set as part of this group buy.
Finally BIG thank you for all the constructive feedback received and especially @AnteAndy and @BGinGA !

Kid.

These look awesome. Thanks for providing them Kid! I think I like the last set the best. On the primary set, will the printed chips be darker? On the orange 500, the WSOP chips seem darker, or more orange in pics that I have seen. I am trying to hold myself back from these! So, how much are dealer buttons through this group buy?

You'll have to see with the samples when produced. I've used only SunFly palette for these.

I just noticed that on the gradient versions, small texts on few denoms shall not be black else they won't be visible. Small stuff to fix.

This is an online Photoshop emulation. It’s a good program, but wasn’t initially intended for vectors. Unless something has changed since the last time I looked at it.

Inkscape is good for this project as long as people save their files as .EPS not SVG.

You will also want that T5000 inlay ^^ to be color-matched (it's currently identical to the Secondaries with darker inlay version).

Everything else looks great, all versions.

Ah yes small mistake , thanks for noting it !

UPDATE: It's fixed in my previous post here above !
