Custom artwork group buy. US/CAN CARDS MOLD (34 Viewers)

@SeanGecko - Could you please update the very first post in this thread with an up-to-date explanation of what this is all about?

Skimming a few pages here and there, I think it's something like this - please correct me where I'm missing or misunderstanding something:
  • There's a group buy going on for custom ceramic chips at a cost of about thirty cents per chip
  • The chips are "hybrid" ceramics, in that they have edge molds and inlay recesses like clay chips typically do
  • The custom artwork can cover both the inlay area and the entire face of the chip
  • Each person can have their own custom artwork for their order; there's not a single set of artwork as is the case in typical group buys
  • That said, several people have made the artwork they're using available for anyone else to use, and many people are taking advantage of that rather than creating their own artwork from scratch
  • There's going to be a deadline for participating, but that deadline hasn't been announced yet
What I'm not yet clear on:
  • How do you place an order?
  • What chip colors and spot colors are available?
  • How do you specify the chip colors, spot colors, and inlay artwork to use?
I'm sure I'll find out once I read the entire thread, but a summary of the essential points at the very start of the thread would be very helpful for anyone else who's new. 64 pages of forum posts is a lot to catch up on all at once.

Its most likely too late for you to create your own custom set.
Maybe we should create a separate thread for those sets that people are sharing? (if it hasn't been done already, I was on vacation last week)

Sorry man you are late to this party. It ran for over a month and we are gathering the last of the individual art now.
Over 30+ custom sets.

Once in a lifetime group buy!

In case Sean doesn't get to this right away - I'll throw in my 2 cents worth. Couple of corrections to your top section:

Not hybrids. Entire face is printed. No recess, just an imprinted circle around the inlay area. Inlay and edge spots are all printed.

Deadlines have been announced. They were last Friday to get into the buy, and this Friday (tomorrow) to firm up production numbers.

Regarding your second section, I believe you are now too late, even if you were to piggy back off of existing artwork. Sean will correct if I'm wrong.

63389 CARDS MOLD
3165 43mm

with 5 stragglers to go.

63K!?!?!? Damn! Gives me anxiety thinking of you having to deal with all that. Thanks again!!!

While we wait, would it make sense to have a structural engineer take a look at your front porch to make sure there's no load issues? Having a foundation crack under the weight of china ceramics would suck for you, but legendary nevertheless. It would warrant a spot on the PCF Mt. Rushmore for sure.

To @CrazyEddie point, perhaps updating the OP and/or the thread title with something like [CLOSED - FINALIZING] would save you any headaches with late-comers. Just a thought...

Anyone know the record for largest number of chips ordered in a PCF group buy?
Given that these chips are about half the cost of any previous GB I've seen (The Prestige GB) I'm gonna guess that this is it. But I haven't been here very long, so if it's not, let's hear about it!

Anyone know the record for largest number of chips ordered in a PCF group buy?
On Chiptalk, the very first chip group buy (Pharaoh's Club & Casino, Paulson clays), was roughly 100,000 chips, and one of the very last group buys on CT (Championship Poker Series, china clays) was close to 350,000 chips.

If considering private ventures as group buys, then the Empress Star order was 90,000 chips (three set designs) and the Aurora Star order totalled 205,000 chips (two set designs), both for Paulson clays.

There have been several true group buys on PCF that resulted in 20,000 to 35,000 chips being ordered (ceramics, ceramic hybrids, and high-end plastics), but they were all mostly for a single set design.

The high numbers being generated in this group buy are due to a combination of low cost and the flexibility of multiple offered designs -- great attributes for any joint project.

Solid amount! Guess you could add mine to the total for even more impressive numbers, as I've ordered and paid for 1200+ as well. GB pricing, but shipped directly to me in Norway. Happy with the great customer service!

@BarryWhine has the exact number of 39mm and 43mm but I think total is 2500 for @albatros63 , @BarryWhine and I already paid and directly shipped to France.
